Country singer Jessie James Decker recently discussed why her husband, former NFL star Eric Decker, was reluctant to get a vasectomy.

“I keep asking him, ‘Go make that appointment’ and he won’t. He just won’t do it,” she told US Weekly during a recent interview. “He says it takes, like, his manhood away from him. So he’s just gonna leave it, I guess.”

When asked if the couple planned to have any more kids, the 34-year-old singer said, “I feel like as of right now, it’s probably a no.”

The Deckers have been married since 2013 and share three children: Vivianne, 8, Eric Jr., 7, and Forrest, 4.

Jessie went on to say they could have more kids even though that’s not the plan. “I mean, you know, if it happens, it’s always a blessing,” she told the publication. “We’re not doing anything to truly prevent [more kids].”

The “Should Have Known Better” singer talked about wanting her husband to get a vasectomy and his reluctance in the past. “He won’t book it. He will not book it,” she said during a January 2022 interview. “It’s still TBD.”

Meanwhile, the former Denver Broncos player said part of his hesitation was nerves while another part had to do with not knowing the future.

Eric told US Weekly in 2022 that “the papers are filled out,” but that he couldn’t bring himself to schedule the procedure. “It’s a little power being taken. That’s how I feel,” he said. “I’m a little nervous about it, to be honest.”

“You don’t know where life will take you in the next five years … We have amazing kids, so I don’t want a lot of love being taken,” he went on.

Jessie was at the center of a controversy last November when she was accused of editing a photo of her kids in bathing suits to make it look like they had pronounced abdominal muscles. The singer called the claims “bonkers” but was getting so much backlash she felt the need to talk about it publicly, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“… Being accused of photoshopping abs on my kids (I can’t help but laugh) or … the polar opposite over ‘overtraining’ our kids makes me realize how bizarre our world has gotten regarding the body and what’s normal and what’s not,” she said of the claims, going on to explain how her kids are very muscular from being active.

“I want to raise my kids to feel proud of their bodies,” she went on. “Let’s not pick and choose what we normalize regarding bodies and be accepting of all people and children. If we wanna do ‘better’ then do better.”
