Actress Jennifer Coolidge, 61, said her decision never to become a mother stems from her immaturity and unwillingness to change.

The “White Lotus” star said her friends suggested she adopt a child, but she remained insistent that she was better suited to becoming a stepmother, if anything.

“I’m very, very immature,” Coolidge told British GQ during a recent interview. “I think that has kept me from having children, because I’m sort of a child. Maybe if I had kids, I would’ve had to have grown up.”

The Hollywood star said her choice of men also influenced her decision to avoid parenthood.

“I’ve never had, like, a laid-back boyfriend that was just full of joy, you know?” she said. “Like, someone who laughs at all your shortcomings. That’s never who I choose for myself.”

Coolidge has been working in Hollywood for a long time and has recently been featured in big-name projects, like HBO’s smash series “The White Lotus.” The actress won an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and two SAG Awards for her portrayal of the eccentric heiress Tanya McQuoid in the satirical drama comedy.

She owns a house in New Orleans but has been spending more time in L.A. for work recently, which Coolidge described as a negative.

“I’m bored here,” the “American Pie” alum said. “I think I’d appreciate it more if I had kids or something.”

Coolidge’s “White Lotus” character was killed off in season 2, so now she’s looking for her next project. She appeared with the show’s writer and director, Mike White, at an event in Sydney. The actress said, “I have to move on. Offers have come in and I would love to do a film next, but ‘The White Lotus’ holds this very high bar, so it will be hard to choose.”

The “Legally Blonde” star said Tanya’s death put her “in a very weird position,” per Variety

“Since my on-screen death I was getting calls from actress friends who were wondering if a third season happened could I get them in on it,” Coolidge said. “But, I would like to see some of the characters return who we haven’t seen quite finish their story.”

“I want everyone to know all my depressing stories. Because I think it will help people,” she said. “I know there’s a bunch of positive people in the audience that don’t need any. But I do feel like I am a good story. I had a very hard time functioning for many years, because I just didn’t think I had a shot in hell.”
