Mila Kunis slammed fellow celebrities who gave Will Smith a standing ovation at the 94th Academy Awards show in March after he slapped comedian Chris Rock, describing the moment as “insane.”

The 39-year-old actress said she and her husband, actor Ashton Kutcher, were in attendance at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood that night and witnessed the altercation. They were also in the room when Academy members later gave Smith a standing ovation for his first Oscar ever for his role in “King Richard,” something she said she didn’t follow.

“The idea of leading by example only makes sense when you actually have someone to lead,” Kunis shared recently with the Fashionable Living 2022 issue of C Magazine.

“We have our tiny little tribe here at home, and never once do I want to tell them to do something if I’m not willing to do it myself,” she added. “Not standing up, to me, was a no-brainer, but what was shocking to me was how many people did stand up.”

“I thought, ‘Wow, what a time we’re living in that rather than do what’s right, people focus on doing what looks good,'” Kunis continued. “It’s insane to me.”

The actress recently was booed during her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” which was taping in Brooklyn instead of his Los Angeles studio, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“You seem like you could be a New Yorker, but you’re not a New Yorker, right?” Kimmel asked after the laughter died down.

“No, I’m not,” Kunis replied, with no hint of a slam to the idea.

She then suddenly turned toward the audience. “What? Who booed?”

“Someone booed you,” Kimmel replied.

“What’s wrong with your audience?” the actress asked before she joked, “Very New York of you. Very New York. I’m sorry … Well, you won’t like the rest of this interview.”

The “That ’70s Show” star married Kutcher in 2015, and the couple shares two children.
