Actress Mila Kunis scolded the audience during a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” — which was taping in Brooklyn instead of his usual Los Angeles studio — saying that they were mean when they booed her, apparently for not saying nice enough things about New York.

Kunis has been doing a number of press events for her newest project — Netflix’s “Luckiest Girl Alive” — and her visit with Kimmel got off to a bumpy start as the audience booed her several times.

Kunis began with an embarrassing anecdote, explaining that she had somehow made it backstage to change for the show before realizing that wardrobe had sent her nothing in the way of undergarments — not even socks.

“Why I wasn’t wearing those garments either is a whole other story which we can get into at a later time …” Kunis said, prompting laughter from both Kimmel and the audience. “But I looked around and I went, ‘I think we have a problem.'”

But because the dress she was supposed to wear was somewhat sheer, she had to improvise — and the end result, she explained: “So I’m currently wearing my publicist’s bra, my manager’s socks, and your costume department found children’s leggings from The Children’s Place that we have cut into underwear — so I am wearing children’s underwear, Cami Curtis’ socks, and Melissa’s bra.”

“You seem like you could be a New Yorker, but you’re not a New Yorker, right?” Kimmel asked after the laughter died down.

“No, I’m not,” Kunis said, and then she suddenly turned toward the audience. “What? Who booed?”

“Someone booed you,” Kimmel agreed.

“What’s wrong with your audience?” Kunis asked, before joking, “Very New York of you. Very New York. I’m sorry … Well, you won’t like the rest of this interview.”

Kunis went on to discuss her childhood and how she had passed through New York when she first arrived in the United States from Ukraine — only to get booed again when she admitted that she hadn’t tried her first slice of pizza in New York. “Boy, this audience is something,” she shook her head. “God, it’s fun.”

Instead, she explained that her father had worked delivering pizzas in Los Angeles — and for that reason, she had eaten a lot of pizza there.

“No, I did not have pizza in New York, okay, well, this won’t really make up for it but my dad delivered pizzas growing up … in L.A., so I ate a lot …” Kunis paused as they booed again. “That’s mean. L.A. has perfectly fine pizzas, guys … hold on, you know what? I am wearing children’s underwear for you!”

As everyone laughed, she added, “Just to get another boo, it was Domino’s pizza.”

“This is like a symphony of boos and ahhs,” she laughed when the audience obliged.

But the biggest reaction of the night came when the actress admitted that she didn’t even like pizza.
