<p><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/whoopi-goldberg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Whoopi Goldberg</a> raged at former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH), on Tuesday after they dared to suggest that violent rhetoric from the Left could have inspired a second assassination attempt on Trump.</p>
<p>Goldberg, during Tuesday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;The View,&#8221; insisted that Vance — and particularly Trump, who she said had been &#8220;inciting violence since 2016&#8221; — bore full responsibility for the tone of politics in the United States.</p>

<p>Goldberg opened the segment with a clip of Vance talking about the would-be shooter, who was apprehended after being spotted 300-500 yards away from where Trump was playing golf on Sunday afternoon.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Left needs to tone down the rhetoric and needs to cut this crap out,&#8221; Vance said in the clip — and &#8220;The View&#8221; audience gave an audible gasp.</p>

<p>Goldberg acknowledged their apparent disbelief before suggesting that Vance go to a Trump rally if he really wanted to hear violent rhetoric. &#8220;He has been inciting violence since 2016!&#8221; she claimed. &#8220;You have to really take a look in a mirror.&#8221;</p>
<p>She went on to suggest that Vance was to blame for threats on Haitian immigrant communities in Ohio — after he repeated claims made by constituents who had been impacted by the influx of those immigrants.</p>
<p>The conversation continued with several of the other cohosts weighing in on the topic — and all of them echoed Goldberg&#8217;s sentiments, largely blaming Trump for creating a political climate of real violence — despite the fact that such violence has almost exclusively been aimed at Trump and other Republicans.</p>

<p>&#8220;Stop this thing,&#8221; she said. &#8220;You know, let&#8217;s stop this both sides stuff because it&#8217;s not correct! It is not both sides! It is one clear side. And you can point to many many reports, you can point to all kinds of stuff that&#8217;s been reported. You guys have to pull it back. This is not us or them. This is you got to stop doing what you&#8217;re doing, J.D.! And what you&#8217;re doing, Mr. T! Because you are – you are not helping the situation.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump&#8217;s campaign responded to the second assassination attempt by sharing a list of more than 50 times Democrats and media talking heads had used <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-team-brings-receipts-highlights-50-times-dems-media-used-extreme-rhetoric-about-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">violent rhetoric</a> against him, even calling for him to be &#8220;eliminated.&#8221;</p>
