The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday that it struck numerous Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon after nearly two dozen rockets were fired at Israel.
The rocket barrage, which is the largest Hezbollah has launched at Israel since Hamas’ October 7 terror attacks, came after the IDF eliminated Hezbollah terrorists near the border who were attempting to fire anti-tank missiles at Israeli forces.
Israel initially responded with artillery fire at the positions where the rocket launches originated from before fighter jets dropped precision munitions on the locations later in the night.
“In response to the shooting from Lebanon earlier today, IDF fighter jets struck Hezbollah terror targets,” the IDF said in a statement. “Among these targets were a weapons compound, launching posts, terror command infrastructure, and several other sites in which Hezbollah’s technological means were located.”
“In addition, earlier today, a terrorist cell that attempted to fire anti-tank missiles from Lebanon to Israel was struck,” the statement added.

Hezbollah is an Iranian-backed terrorist group whose primary goal is the elimination of Israel and the targeting of the United States all over the world as it has operations in Africa, the Americas, and Asia.
The Congressional Research Service reports:
Hezbollah operates a global criminal-financial network, with reported hubs in Europe, Africa, and Latin America. A 2022 Europol report stated, “The network of collaborators built by Hezbollah in the EU is suspected of managing the transportation and distribution of illegal drugs into the EU, dealing with firearms trafficking and running professional money laundering operations.” Other 2022 reports highlight Hezbollah’s role in the trafficking of amphetamine-type stimulants, marketed as “captagon,” along the Syria- Lebanon border.
Hezbollah has approximately 20,000 soldiers and up to 150,000 rockets in its arsenal that could easily dwarf the 6,000+ rockets that Hamas fired at Israel last month.
