“The View” co-host Sara Haines questioned why everyone was angry with Israel in the wake of the brutal October 7th attacks — perpetrated by Hamas terrorists against Israeli civilians — saying that it would make far more sense for the anger to be directed at Hamas.

Haines pointed out that Gaza was governed wholly by Hamas’ political wing — which routinely withheld humanitarian aid from civilians in order to funnel it to its militant wing and support further attacks against Israel — and she asked why no one in Gaza seemed to be blaming Hamas rather than Israel.

Haines began by saying that she understood there could be some legitimate criticisms of Israeli policy — and that could be a whole different conversation — but that the anger seemed to be displaced.

“You can say Israel has questionable policies — a lot of Israelis feel that, Jewish people feel that, I’ve seen that, they have questionable policies,” she said. “But where is the rage, when people talk about them living — Palestinians — in an ‘open air [prison]’ that the governing body intercepts aid?”

“Whereas Israel built bomb shelters to protect its people, Hamas built tunnels to further attack its neighbors,” she continued, saying that the bottom line was that some people were obviously in favor of coexistence and others were not.

Haines went on to cite remarks from former President Barack Obama, who noted that Israel had attempted on several occasions to come to an agreement with regard to a two-state solution — but said that every time, the proposed solution had been rejected by the Palestinian side.

Co-host Sunny Hostin pointed out that Hamas had remained in power without allowing the people to vote since 2005 — the same year the Israeli government ceded Gaza to the Palestinians.

When co-host Joy Behar noted that many of them appeared to still blame Israel for the situation that was being controlled entirely by Hamas, Hostin attempted to pivot and blame Israel for “illegal occupation” — but before the exchange could get too testy, co-host Whoopi Goldberg interrupted and took the show to a break.
