Is Legacy Media getting ready to dump President Joe Biden before the 2024 election? The coverage of the IRS whistleblower’s jaw-dropping Hunter Biden testimony suggests so.
On Thursday, the House Ways and Means Committee released a transcript of an IRS Whistleblower claiming that Biden the Younger sent a threatening text to a Chinese Communist Party-linked businessman while invoking his father’s name and his many political connections. A report now shows that just 10 days after that message, an alleged $5.2 million payment was sent to a bank account connected to Hunter for reasons that remain unclear from that businessman’s company.
What is also significant about this story is that a New York Times reporter was the one who put those two pieces of evidence together.

Why does that matter?
Well, for quite some time, the president and his media allies have claimed that the president has never had anything to do with his son’s improbable and illustrious overseas business career. Despite having a laptop chock-full of damning evidence to peruse, Legacy Media has been in denial and utterly uninterested in the possibility — and arguably probability — that Hunter and other Biden family members were selling access to Joe Biden and his many political connections in and outside of elected government.
But now, based on the IRS Whistleblower’s report, the allegations are so obvious and substantiated that it seems that this story cannot possibly be ignored any longer. Throughout Friday’s White House press briefing, both National Security Spokesperson John Kirby (seen by many as the real spokesperson for Biden) and White House Press Secretary and diversity hire Karine Jean-Pierre were badgered by reporters from a myriad of outlets — not just right-leaning ones — about the whistleblower’s report.

Readers should consider that in early May after the House GOP laid out an impressive report detailing potential Biden family corruption that The Times ran a story claiming ” House Republican Report Finds No Evidence of Wrongdoing by President Biden.”
That was, as Real Clear Politics editor Mark Hemingway said, not true in the slightest.
“The thing about the New York Times headline — ‘House Republican Report Finds No Evidence of Wrongdoing by President Biden’ — is that it’s factually incorrect. The report provides no definitive proof of corruption, but there’s a metric ton of evidence strongly suggesting it,” he tweeted.

In other words, the story needed more digging by both media and authorities. Biden’s DOJ seems astoundingly apathetic in securing justice here — potentially the largest corruption in American history — and Legacy Media at large still seems to have zero interest in covering it with the magnifying glass truly needed. All of this information — from Hunter’s laptop to whiffs of impropriety, to questions about the Biden family “business” — has existed for years. Getting to the bottom of it all has been left up to conservative media and dedicated Republicans. Legacy Media and others even derided those who looked into any of this as being pushers of misinformation and threats to democracy.
So perhaps Friday marked a shift in coverage of it all thanks to the whistleblower’s report.
Whether this change is because the Government-Media Complex at large is getting ready to dump Joe in exchange for Patrick Bateman 2.0 out of California for 2024 remains to be seen. But it is notable that the IRS Whistleblower’s story was not swept under the rug in the same manner that the credible evidence of Biden accepting a $5 million bribe from a Ukrainian oligarch was just last month.
While it is doubtful that Joe or his latchkey son will ever see a trial, much less a jail cell, perhaps the writing is on the wall that the Biden family is no longer politically useful. And once you are no longer politically useful to the Left, the Government-Media Complex turns on you remarkably fast. That about-face could be beginning now.
