One thing the internet is good at is conspiracy theories. Sure, they’re almost always wrong, but they’re fun anyway.
The latest one to re-emerge on the world wide interwebs is that first lady Melania Trump is sometimes played by a body double.
When the first lady joined husband President Donald Trump on August 24 on a trip to Columbus, Ohio, her clothes and hair caught the attention of some tin-foil-hat-wearing internetters.
Here’s what Melania was wearing that day.

Twitterers speculated that Melania was not Melania.
Another used more graphic language, saying, ” “No f***ing way this is Melania.”
Others agreed.
Underlying the conspiracy theories are some more conspiracy theories: Melania is in poor health and doesn’t travel; Melania is furious with Trump over his affairs and won’t be seen with him; Melania is an alien from another planet and has reverted to her octopus form (OK, we made that last one up).
This isn’t the first time the theory has popped up. Last October, conspiracy theorists focused on a video showing Trump addressing the media about hurricane relief for Puerto Rico. Melania, wearing large shades stood in the background nodding.
But the bottom line, as always, is simple. If it’s on the internet, it’s gotta be true. And to save time, follow this one simple step: Believe everything you read. It’s easier that way.
