Monday night’s X-Spaces conversation between <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elon-musk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elon Musk</a> and Republican presidential nominee <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> began with technical glitches that supporters said &#8220;broke the internet,&#8221; but following the discussion, Musk <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/musks-trump-interview-discussion-generates-1-billion-views-x-says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> that views of the event and subsequent discussions by X accounts numbered around 1 billion, far surpassing any previous record.
The legacy media would have people believe that the discussion was a total bust, but that stands in stark contrast to what many audience members are saying about the unscripted conversation between two of the most famous men in the world.
“Listening to @elonmusk &amp; @realDonaldTrump chat about trains just now was surprisingly fascinating. Love this @XSpaces conversation.. it’s like two mates chewing the fat about the world’s problems. People who hate them will hate it, but everyone else will learn a lot from it,” British TV host Piers Morgan <a href="https://x.com/piersmorgan/status/1823183997457080424?s=46&amp;t=o-U3qwC25WnWaylJ0oeG7Q">said</a> of the interview.
“Long for[m] conversations like this is the way forward and should become mandatory in any political campaign,” a <a href="https://x.com/Thompsonklay/status/1823184411233296639">reaction</a> to Morgan’s tweet said, echoing what many others were saying about Democratic nominee Kamala Harris avoiding interviews since her candidacy was announced.

Trump also mentioned the Dems&#8217; refusal to do extended interviews, saying at one point during the Spaces conversation, “By the way, you think Biden could do this interview? Do you think that Kamala could do this interview?”
“No, they could not,” Musk replied.
“It’s pretty sad when you think that somebody that does this for a living can’t answer a question or is afraid to do an interview,” Trump said.
Ben Shapiro, Editor Emeritus at The Daily Wire, <a href="https://x.com/benshapiro/status/1823189371434226119">expressed</a> similar sentiments. &#8220;Kamala simply could not do a two-hour running interview without seriously harming herself. Everyone knows it. She won&#8217;t even talk to Time magazine while they write puff pieces for their cover.&#8221;
Musk also <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1823217769229566251">posted</a> that he was “happy to host Kamala on an X Spaces too.” 
“[T]his interview is good,” Fox News host Greg Gutfeld <a href="https://x.com/greggutfeld/status/1823178323893408125">shared</a> on X. “But the bigger story is that two of the most important world figures agree on the world.  Whats (sic) that tell you? The most consequential technical genius perhaps ever and the most consequential political figure are talking about stuff on equal footing, and Trump knows everything Musk is talking about concerning energy, artificial intelligence and economic development.&#8221; 
Gutfeld added, &#8220;[N]o politician could energetically engage on future problems like this.  Most would need a staff of ten doing packets of research for each topic and still the politician will have no idea what to think.”
Actor James Woods also weighed in. “Listening to two pragmatic visionaries chat about the future of the nation devoid of Democrat Party shenanigans is so inspiring. I swear, Trump and Musk could clean up the Harris-Biden fiasco in a day,” he <a href="https://x.com/RealJamesWoods/status/1823177575159742739">tweeted</a>.
Fox News contributor and radio show host Tony Katz <a href="https://x.com/tonykatz/status/1823190244373717167">shared</a> another observation about Musk and Trump’s lengthy chat last night. “Most fascinating part of that conversation was the ending. Trump admitting he didn’t hire the best people at first, that he learned as he went along,” he said. “Rare admission from Trump. A touch of humility. Was good to see.”
