Legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne said he’s an “American now” and said he’d rather stay in the United States after previously announcing he’s moving back to the United Kingdom.

The 73-year-old singer admitted he’s not moving across the pond out of choice, but has to amid a rise in crime in Los Angeles and taxes, Consequence reported in a piece published Monday.

“To be honest with you, if I had my way, I’d stay in America,” Osbourne explained. “I’m American now.”

Osbourne and his wife talk show host Sharon Osbourne are planning to be moved back to England by the end of 2022, the outlet noted.

Sharon said leaving Los Angeles after living there for four decades was made easier because “California is not what it once was.”

“When I first came here, I thought I was in heaven,” Sharon explained. “In the ’70s, if you loved music, this was the place to be. It’s not that hub anymore. It’s not exciting anymore.”

“It hasn’t gone sideways, it’s gone down,” she added. “It’s not a fun place to live. It’s dangerous here. Every big city’s got crime, but I don’t feel safe here. Neither does Ozzy.”

The comments come after she was ousted from CBS’s “The Talk” following her support for Piers Morgan who made comments about Meghan Markle following the Duchess of Sussex’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, as previously reported.

At one point in the wide-ranging interview, the “Crazy Train” hitmaker was asked about what his best album was and his answer made it clear, despite his health struggles and age he’s not done yet. In 2020, the rocker revealed that he’d been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

“Another question I often get asked is what’s my best album,” Osbourne shared. “And I always say, ‘Well, I haven’t made it yet.'”

“The most valuable thing I have now is time,” he added. “I don’t think I’m going to be around forever. And that’s why I want to make more records. I have so much more to give before I go. If I didn’t have anything worth doing, I wouldn’t do it.”

Ozzy and Sharon have been married for forty years and share three children together.
