New York City Democrat Mayor Eric Adams said this week that illegal alien crime in the city is getting so bad, officials need to look at modifying the city’s sanctuary status so that local law enforcement can cooperate with federal immigration officials to deport violent criminals.
“We should not be allowing people who are repeatedly committing crimes to remain here and we cannot collaborate with ICE in the process,” Adams said on Monday. “Those who are committing crimes, we need to modify the sanctuary city law. If you commit a felony, a violent act, we should be able to turn you over to ICE and have you deported.”

Adams’ remarks come after a group of violent illegal aliens viciously beat two New York City Police Department officers late last month and were later released due to the city’s Democrat sanctuary city policies. After they were released from custody, they flipped off reporters while smirking.
The illegal aliens then fled the state and were on their way to California when they were stopped and arrested by federal authorities in Arizona.
Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell slammed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office for allowing the illegal aliens to be released after the vicious attack on the police was caught on camera and went viral online and in news coverage.
“I would have assumed that they wouldn’t let illegal immigrants who attack police go, but they did,” Mitchell said.

Adams’ remarks about needing to modify the city’s sanctuary city laws come as illegal alien crime has surged across the U.S. under President Joe Biden. Under Biden, more than 7.2 million illegal aliens — a number greater than the population of 36 U.S. states — have entered into the U.S. due to his policies. Biden’s border crisis has now become the top overall issue for voters heading into this fall’s general election rematch between Biden and former President Donald Trump. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reports seeing a massive increase in the number of criminal illegal aliens encountered at the U.S. border under Biden.
