ICED: White House Rips NY Times Reporter For ‘Desperate And Ridiculous’ Attack On Kavanaugh

   DailyWire.com

The news was big. Gargantuan, really.

Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court, once threw ice at another guy in a bar some 30 odd years ago.

We told you it was big.

“Kavanaugh Was Questioned by Police After Bar Fight in 1985,” The New York Times headline read. The story, by “journalist” Emily Bazelon, said this: “As an undergraduate student at Yale, Brett M. Kavanaugh was involved in an altercation at a local bar during which he was accused of throwing ice on another patron, according to a police report.”

The hit piece, though, was full of holes.

“The outlines of the incident were first referred to in a statement issued on Sunday by Chad Ludington, one of Judge Kavanaugh’s college classmates and a member of the Yale basketball team. ‘On one of the last occasions I purposely socialized with Brett, I witnessed him respond to a semi-hostile remark, not by defusing the situation, but by throwing his beer in the man’s face,’ Mr. Ludington said in the statement,” the Times reported.

Uh, what happened to the ice? The Times never says.

But there’s more. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Monday slammed the reporter by questioning what motivated the “ridiculous” story.

“Democrats desperately attack Judge Kavanaugh for throwing ice during college. What motivated New York Times reporter to write this ridiculous story? Throwing ice 33 years ago, or her opinion of Judge Kavanaugh in July?'” Sanders wrote on Twitter.

In her tweet, Sanders linked to a July tweet posted by Bazelon in which the “journalist” wrote:

“As a @YaleLawSch grad & lecturer, I strongly disassociate myself from tonight’s praise of Brett Kavanaugh. With respect, he’s a 5th vote for a hard-right turn on voting rights and so much more that will harm the democratic process & prevent a more equal society.”

Kimberly Strassel, the “Potomac Watch” columnist for The Wall Street Journal editorial page, took to Twitter to mock the heavily biased Times “reporter.”

“It boggles my mind that a ‘reporter’ that has expressed such unreserved opinions on a public figure is allowed to continue writing stories on said public figure,” Strassel wrote.

Fox News’ Brit Hume also pointed out the obvious bias.
