THE ICE CUBE RAPIST?: CNN Host Makes Connection Between Kavanaugh Ice Throwing Incident And Alleged Assault

CNN’s Alisyn Camerota said on Tuesday that the ice-throwing incident that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was involved in during his college years was a relevant piece of information in determining whether he was guilty of sexual assault.

The segment on CNN’s “New Day” came in response to a Monday report from The New York Times which documented a 1985 incident in which Kavanaugh allegedly threw ice in someone’s face at a bar during a verbal altercation. Kavanaugh denied throwing the ice, according to a New Haven, Connecticut, police department report taken at the time.

The Free Beacon reported that co-host John Berman asked the panel how important the Times’ report was to the overall conversation of whether Kavanaugh should be confirmed to the Supreme Court.

Political analyst John Avalon laughed off how the media was hyping the ice-throwing incident, saying, “It’s, I think, a symbol of the degradation of the debate we’re having.”

Camerota then jumped in to make a connection between the ice-throwing incident and the allegations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh.

“I disagree. I think it’s part and parcel of the entire thing,” Camerota responded. “I think that if you are known as a belligerent, mean, fighting drunk, that’s relevant. I think that it’s relevant to then a woman who says that you would corner her and put your hand over her mouth. Somehow that, I think, makes more sense than if you were just a fun drunk who always fell right asleep. So I think that it is relevant.”

Josh Campbell, the former assistant to former FBI Director James Comey, could be seen nodding in agreement with Camerota’s assertion.
