Speaking to scientists in Paris at a laboratory dealing with COVID-19 , Vice President Kamala Harris adopted what appeared to be a French accent, triggering widespread mockery across social media.
Harris was visiting the Institut Pasteur science lab when she burbled in what seemed like a French accent, “The Plan.” She warbled:
With us in government, we campaign with ‘The Plan.” Uppercase T, uppercase P, ‘The Plan!” And then the environment is such that we’re expected to defend “The Plan” even when the first time we roll it out there may be some glitches and it’s time to reevaluate and then do it again.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, appearing on Fox News, stated:
The clip from Vice President Harris is just it’s more than embarrassing on the world stage … Our adversaries watch that and see weakness. They see people who aren’t serious, they see people who aren’t determined precisely the opposite of what we did for four years. It feels a lot more like the Carter administration in terms of how they view America as a danger to the world and apologize everywhere they go.
We need to get serious. You just trip through the Russians, the Chinese, the North Koreans, the Iranians. You just trip through all of our adversaries. These adversaries can see that we’re focused on diversity inclusion in our military. We’re focused on trying to fly our jets with green energy, and they’re focused on how to build out a military that can undo our republic. We need an administration that is serious about putting America first, not America last, as they seem to have done. Prioritizing climate change as America’s most significant national security threat is an enormous mistake.
“Harris moved to Montreal, Canada, when she was 12 and attended a French-speaking school for several years.,” The Daily Mail noted.
Prior to her attempt at a French accent, Harris said, “One of the things people in politics and government should really take from the approach of scientists — scientists operate with a hypothesis. I love that. … A hypothesis. It’s well-thought-out, it’s well-planned, they start out with a hypothesis and then they test it out knowing invariably, you’re trying something for the first time, there will be glitches, there will be mistakes. … Then everyone gets together, no one gets beat up about it, you analyze it — what went wrong, re-evaluate, update the hypothesis and start again,” The New York Post noted.
