<p><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter Biden</a>, the son of President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a>, agreed to give some of his paintings to his daughter as part of a settlement in a child dispute case in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/arkansas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Arkansas</a>.</p>
<p>A <a href="https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/23864218/hunter-biden-settlement-announcement.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">court filing</a> on Thursday outlines the agreement with Lunden Roberts, the mother of their young daughter, however some details are hidden from the public&#8217;s view.</p>
<p>Hunter Biden, who had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/struggling-artist-hunter-biden-asks-for-lower-child-support-payments" target="_blank" rel="noopener">requested</a> that his $20,000 monthly child support payments be lowered, will continue to provide money as part of the settlement, but the amount agreed upon is hidden under redactions.</p>
<p>What is made clear is that Biden agreed to assign the child a number of his paintings for a period of time, &#8220;which shall vary in size with a minimum size of 24&#215;24,&#8221; according to the filing. &#8220;The child shall select the painting which shall either be sent to the child or sent to a gallery designated by Lunden Roberts. The net proceeds of any sales of paintings shall be wired to an account designated by Lunden Roberts,&#8221; the filing adds.</p>
<p>Biden&#8217;s paintings have been listed for as <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/02/05/hunter-biden-art-investigation-republican/11170330002/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">high as $500,000</a> and <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11523295/Hunter-Biden-sells-paintings-225-000-anonymous-buyers.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sold for up to $225,000</a>, prompting ethics concerns for the White House and an alleged deal to <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/house-republicans-hunter-biden-art-deals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">keep buyers anonymous</a> except to the <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/01/politics/hunter-biden-deposition-court-hearing/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gallery owner</a>. When it was reported in 2020 that Biden had taken up art, he <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/28/arts/design/hunter-biden-art.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told The New York Times</a> that painting was keeping him &#8220;sane&#8221; after years of drug addiction.</p>
<p>Sales of Biden&#8217;s artwork are <a href="https://apnews.com/article/biden-united-states-government-robert-hunter-us-republican-party-house-of-representatives-f8de98b4372b91898852b9e1627ed72b" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one area of investigation</a> for House Republicans, who are also looking into the financial dealings of Biden and other members of his family over concerns about <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-reaches-plea-deal-over-tax-crimes-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">corruption making its way to the White House</a>. And in a federal inquiry, Hunter Biden recently agreed to a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-reaches-plea-deal-over-tax-crimes-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">plea deal on tax and gun violations</a> that could spare him of prison time.</p>
<p>Roberts, who has been identified as a former stripper from Arkansas, sued Biden for paternity and child support in the summer of 2019 shortly after it was reported that Biden had married another woman, <a href="https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2019/jun/20/paternity-suit-lists-bidens-son-49/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette</a>. Biden initially denied having sexual relations with Roberts, but DNA testing showed <a href="https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2019/nov/20/dna-test-shows-hunter-biden-father-arkansas-womans/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;with scientific certainty&#8221;</a> that he was the father of her daughter.</p>
<p>A 2020 settlement stipulated Biden pay $20,000 in child support every month retroactive to 2018, the year the child was born, but by last fall, the president&#8217;s son asked that the amount be decreased because of a “substantial material change” in his financial situation.</p>

<p>A lawyer for the 53-year-old Biden claimed in May that his client had already given <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/06/03/hunter-biden-paternity-case-family-name-child-support/70170724007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$750,000 to Roberts</a>, but Roberts accused Biden of &#8220;living lavishly&#8221; while pretending to be &#8220;financially destitute,&#8221; <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hunter-biden-accused-of-living-lavishly-in-child-support-case-2023-4?utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=yahoo.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">per Insider</a>. A judge <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/01/politics/hunter-biden-deposition-court-hearing/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has ordered Biden</a> to answer questions about his finances and art sales with a trial expected next month if a settlement had not been reached.</p>
<p>The settlement revealed on Thursday also includes the stipulation that Roberts withdraws her counterclaim for a name change of the child.</p>
<p>Roberts <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/mother-hunter-bidens-child-files-court-motion-wants-benefit-his-last-name-1770212#:~:text=The%20court%20document%20filed%20said,father%20and%20other%20family%20members.%22&amp;text=The%20motion%20further%20argued%20that,the%20last%20name%20of%20Biden." target="_blank" rel="noopener">had requested</a> that her daughter&#8217;s surname be changed to Biden, arguing it will &#8220;open opportunities for her just like it has for other members of the Biden family.&#8221; She also said in court filings in April that Biden has &#8220;never seen or contacted&#8221; his daughter and President Biden and first lady Jill Biden &#8220;remain estranged&#8221; from their granddaughter, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/29/politics/hunter-biden-lunden-roberts-arkansas-child-support-case/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to CNN</a>.</p>
<p>Biden, who has <a href="https://people.com/all-about-hunter-biden-kids-7551103" target="_blank" rel="noopener">four other children</a>, pushed back on the push for a surname change, with his lawyer insisting that the &#8220;notoriety&#8221; would deprive the child of a <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/06/03/hunter-biden-paternity-case-family-name-child-support/70170724007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;peaceful existence.&#8221;</a></p>
