<p>Multiple House Democrats said on Thursday that they would continue to call former President Donald Trump a &#8220;threat to democracy&#8221; — even after calls for the party to tone down its language in the wake of a second assassination attempt on the Republican nominee.</p>
<p>Fox Business correspondent Hillary Vaughn asked three House Democrats if they &#8220;think it&#8217;s time for Democrats to stop calling Trump a threat to democracy,&#8221; and all of them defended the description for the Democratic Party&#8217;s political rival.</p>
<p>&#8220;No, the fact of the matter is that he is a threat to democracy,&#8221; said Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hank-johnson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hank Johnson</a> (D-GA).</p>
<p>Rep. Pramilla Jayapal (D-WA) responded to the Fox Business reporter&#8217;s question, saying, &#8220;No, I think we should be clear that he is a threat to democracy.</p>
<p>&#8220;Do you think the rhetoric needs to be toned down?&#8221; Vaughn pressed.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think [Trump&#8217;s] rhetoric should be toned down, absolutely,&#8221; Jayapal replied.</p>
<p>&#8220;Listen, these are the facts; he is a threat,&#8221; Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) added. &#8220;Period. Point blank.&#8221;</p>

<p>Trump <a href="https://x.com/jimsciutto/status/1835748500899770373" target="_blank" rel="noopener">slammed</a> the Democrats&#8217; &#8220;rhetoric&#8221; and &#8220;lies&#8221; about him after Secret Service agents fired on a man who allegedly hid out for 12 hours near Trump&#8217;s golf course in South Florida to take a shot at the Republican nominee.</p>
<p>&#8220;Because of this Communist Left Rhetoric, the bullets are flying, and it will only get worse,&#8221; Trump wrote on Truth Social.</p>
<p>White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kjp-defends-calling-trump-a-threat-after-shes-confronted-by-peter-doocy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">defended</a> calling Trump a &#8220;threat&#8221; earlier this week when she was confronted by Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy.</p>

<p>“It’s been only two days since somebody allegedly tried to kill Donald Trump again, and you’re here at the podium of the White House briefing room calling him a ‘threat,&#8217;” Doocy said during a White House press briefing on Tuesday. “How many more assassination attempts on Donald Trump until the president, the vice president, and you pick a different word to describe Trump other than ‘threat’?”</p>
<p>“Peter … I actually completely disagree with the premise of your question. The question that you’re asking, it is also incredibly dangerous in the way that you’re asking it,” Jean-Pierre responded. “Because the American people are watching, and to say that from an administration who has consistently condemned political violence, from an administration that the president called the former president and was thankful, grateful that he was okay … and now for you to make that comment in your questioning … that is also incredibly dangerous.”</p>
<p>Jean-Pierre then said her description of Trump as a &#8220;threat&#8221; is accurate, arguing, “What I have said about the former president about January 6 is facts.”</p>
