The managers of the official X account for the House Ways and Means Committee Democrats quickly deleted a post on Tuesday that mocked Americans for complaining about the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/inflation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">economy and inflation</a>.
The Democrats&#8217; account reposted a report on shoppers spending a record amount of money on Black Friday. The Ways and Means Committee commented on the report, &#8220;And here we were thinking y&#8217;all couldn&#8217;t afford eggs!&#8221;

Social media users blasted the Ways and Means Committee Democrats for the post dismissing concerns about the economy less than a month after the party was dealt a major electoral defeat, largely due to how Americans view the economy under President Joe Biden. In three years under Biden, egg prices spiked 52.6% in the U.S., Fox Business <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/how-it-started-how-its-going-price-eggs-milk-steak-up-biden-took-office" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> in March.
&#8220;As I said it&#8217;s built into their DNA to blame voters for rejecting them, as opposed to self reflection of their message and policies. House Republican Claudia Tenney of New York, who sits on the Ways and Means Committee, <a href="https://x.com/RepTenney/status/1863999378496663953" target="_blank" rel="noopener">penned</a> a Humpty Dumpty poem criticizing her Democratic colleagues for the post.
