Hollywood star Eva Mendes told fans the reason they won’t see her on the red carpet with her husband, actor Ryan Gosling, saying it has everything to do with keeping their lives private.
The 49-year-old actress has been with Gosling for more than 12 years, but the pair have only appeared one time together at a movie premier, and Mendes revealed that’s a decision they both made, Page Six reported.
The actress recently shared a clip on Instagram showing the first film the couple did together, “The Place Beyond The Pines,” in 2012. It was the movie where their romance really blossomed. One follower responded to the clip by asking why she rarely posts snaps with Gosling or appears on the red carpet with him.
“What a cool comment, thank you,” Mendes wrote. “But we don’t do those things together.”

“Like these photos I’ve been posting, I’m only comfortable posting because it’s already out there,” she added. “Oh wait — for those who may catch me in a ‘lie’ — we only were on the red carpet together once when promoting this film [The Place Beyond The Pines].”
Mendes, who shares two daughters — Esmeralda, 8, and Amada, 6 — with the “Barbie” actor, made it clear she values the life they have together and doesn’t feel comfortable allowing cameras to interfere.
“By ‘not comfortable,’ I mean exposing our very private life that we value,” the Hollywood star added. “I’m still dying to do another movie with him though…”

During an interview last year, Mendes appeared to confirm longtime speculation that the couple secretly tied the knot, when she referred to the “Drive” star as her husband.
“I’m loving it here,” the mother of two said during her visit to Australia. “Everybody is amazing, everybody is welcoming us, it’s been so beautiful. My husband Ryan is here … and our children are here, we’re having the best time.”
When Mendes later appeared on Australia’s “Kyle and Jackie O Show,” the actress seemed to hint she and Gosling secretly tied the knot a while ago, Elle noted.
“There’s a rumor that you guys might have secretly tied the knot. Is that true?” a co-host asked.
“But who says we weren’t already?” Mendes replied. “I like to keep it all mysterious. I’m a very mysterious woman.”
