Hillary Clinton’s dysfunctional State Department wasted approximately $6 billion, according to the non-profit group Cause of Action Institute (CofA). Contract mismanagement and fraud topped the lists for the reasons why so much of taxpayer-funded resources was burned.
On Friday, CofA filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request demanding government records that highlight the State Department Inspector General’s (IG) management alert. The files date back to March 2014 when the IG raised concerns about rampant mismanagement within the department.
“The total value of the contracts the [IG] reviewed exceeded $6 billion,” according to the FOIA request obtained by CofA. “Many of these cases arose during the tenure of Secretary Hillary Clinton.”
The IG report showed that under Hillary’s watch, the State Department incurred what amounted “to substantial financial losses.” These losses were caused by “conditions conducive to fraud, as corrupt individuals may attempt to conceal evidence of illicit behavior by omitting key documents from the contract file. It impairs the ability of the department to take effective and timely action to protect its interests and, in turn, those of taxpayers. Finally, it limits the ability of the government to punish and deter criminal behavior.”
Clinton held the title of Secretary of State for nearly four years (January 2009 to February 2013).
During her tenure, the department became entangled in a wide array of controversies, including the tragic Benghazi affair and the failed US-backed NATO air campaign in Libya.

Indeed, it was at Hillary’s direction that the Obama administration agreed to bomb Libya in 2011, ousting dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
Libya is now a hell-hole. The Obama administration recently deployed fighter jets to the country just to ensure that ISIS doesn’t overrun every inch of territory.
According to The Daily Caller, “The State Department has 20 working days to prepare an initial response to CofAI’s request.”
