Two-time failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton faced widespread backlash on Friday for appearing to mock the severity of the coronavirus outbreak in the United States as she attacked President Donald Trump.
Clinton made the highly controversial remarks in a tweet that linked to a New York Times report that said that the U.S. had more coronavirus cases than any other country in the world despite the fact that experts have cast serious doubt on the accuracy of the numbers being reported out of China.
Clinton tweeted, “He did promise ‘America First.'”
Just when you think Hillary Clinton has run out of appalling takes, she goes out and cheers on Americans getting coronavirus.

The tweet was an obvious shot at the president as “America First” was a central campaign theme of his 2016 campaign where he beat Clinton.
Clinton’s remarks were widely ripped on social media by notable accounts who were horrified by her remarks.
Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) tweeted: “Delete your account. This isn’t the time. This can’t be the new normal, where American tragedy is applauded for the sake of political opportunism.”

Former Senior White House Adviser Cliff Sims tweeted: “1. Please keep talking because you’re the greatest political gift any Republican could ever hope for. 2. It’s no surprise you’d promote this, which lets the Chinese—who are undoubtedly lying and continuing to cover up the scale of their outbreak—off the hook.”
