An Israeli mother whose two sons were kidnapped by Hamas terrorists laid into MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell Monday night after the anchor asked her about Israel’s counterstrikes targeting the Gaza Strip.

Renana Gomeh’s two sons, ages 12 and 16, were taken from their beds when Hamas attacked Israel last Saturday. After Gomeh told Mitchell that she was on the phone with her boys when the terrorists broke in and kidnapped them, the MSNBC host asked her what she thought about Israel’s response to the terrorism, which she referred to as “attacks against Gaza.”

“What are your feelings about the attacks against Gaza right now?” Mitchell asked the grieving mother.

“You’re looking first for a symmetrical situation. And I must say it isn’t,” Gomeh shot back. “If you were dealing with a war who is between two countries, countries don’t take children hostages. I’m sorry. It’s against the laws of war. It’s against humanity. It’s against anything that we all believe in.”

“I can’t be sympathetic anymore. I can’t be sympathetic to animal human beings — well, they’re not really human beings — who came into my house, broke everything, stole everything, took my children from their bedrooms, and took them to the Gaza Strip,” Gomeh continued. “Israel never done that, and it will never do. So there is no symmetry.”

Gomeh then called for Hamas to release the civilians — many of whom are women and children — they have taken hostage.

“This is not the way a country behaves. This is a way that a terror organization behaves. I’m sorry. So, again, there’s no symmetry,” she said.

Hamas has brutally murdered more than 1,200 Israelis since the launch of its terror attack last Saturday. The terrorists have also taken at least 150 Israelis hostage into the Gaza Strip where they have threatened to film their executions. The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) is preparing a ground operation to rescue the hostages, and U.S. special forces are reportedly helping the IDF with a possible rescue mission in the Gaza Strip.

MSNBC reporters and anchors have pinned blame on Israel after the terrorist attack on its soil. Hours after Palestinian terrorists launched the attack against Israeli soldiers and civilians, MSNBC Chief Correspondent Ali Velshi and commentator Ayman Mohyeldin criticized Israel.

Reporting on the news of the attack Saturday morning, Velshi said U.S. politicians responding to the war in support of Israel, mostly Republicans, are ignoring the “nuance” of the situation and criticized “Israel’s inhumane treatment of the Palestinians who live under Israeli occupation.”

Velshi also talked to Ayman Mohyeldin, an MSNBC political commentator, who expressed concern for Palestinians after they attacked Israel, saying Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu leads “the most far, extremist, Jewish nationalist government that it has existed.”

The network was roundly criticized for its reporting and commentary on the war, including by NewsNation host Dan Abrams who slammed MSNBC for focusing on “context and nuance” as Palestinian terrorists raped women and brutally murdered infants

“Notice how all of a sudden context and nuance are important for MSNBC,” Abrams said during his Monday monologue. “But when it’s a story that fits their political agenda — like, I don’t know, an officer-involved shooting — context and nuance go out the window.”

“Look, this is not a both-sides story, period.”
