On Saturday, an attack was launched against the Aramco oil facility; according to CBS News, 17 structures were hit with 19 points of impact. Saudi Arabian officials said cruise missiles were used. The same day, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in blunt language that Iran was responsible for the attack, tweeting, “Tehran is behind nearly 100 attacks on Saudi Arabia while Rouhani and Zarif pretend to engage in diplomacy. Amid all the calls for de-escalation, Iran has now launched an unprecedented attack on the world’s energy supply. There is no evidence the attacks came from Yemen.”

As The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, American intelligence indicated that the attack, which wiped out a whopping 5% of the world’s oil supply, was launched from Iranian soil. The Journal added, “The U.S. has already dismissed a claim by Houthi militants in Yemen that they sent 10 drones to attack the Saudi oil sites, which crippled the kingdom’s petroleum industry and sent energy markets into a tailspin.”

After the attack on Saturday, President Trump tweeted, “There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!”

Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard, who has been an apologist for the Assad regime in Syria, which is closely aligned with Iran, took the opportunity to attack the president, using coarse language to do so, tweeting, “Trump awaits instructions from his Saudi masters. Having our country act as Saudi Arabia’s bitch is not ‘America First.'”

Gabbard’s attack prompted a withering reply from radio host Mark Levin, who fired back on Twitter, “Tulsi Gabbard, another clown. This isn’t about Saudi Arabia, moron. Iran is threatening world’s oil supply, navigable waters, killed hundreds of American soldiers, building ICBM’s for nuclear warheads, threatens to destroy the U.S., etc. you’re unfit to lead our country. You’re a dangerous fool.”

This is not the first time Gabbard has said Trump was being “Saudi Arabia’s b****.” In November 2018, Trump stated, “If we abandon Saudi Arabia, it would be a terrible mistake. We may never know all of the facts surrounding the murder of Mr. Jamal Khashoggi. In any case, our relationship is with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They have been a great ally in our very important fight against Iran.”

Gabbard tweeted, “Hey @realdonaldtrump: being Saudi Arabia’s bitch is not ‘America First.'”

As The Washington Examiner pointed out, Gabbard had some shaky ground she was standing on, considering she met with Syrian President Bashar Assad in January 2017 and later publicly doubted claims that Assad had used chemical weapons on his own citizens. Gabbard’s defense of Assad came in the face of the U.S. and its allies agreeing that Assad had indeed used chemical weapons on his own people. Additionally, Syria is in league with Iran, a vehement foe of Saudi Arabia.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) fired back at Gabbard, “And how would you describe your fondness for Assad? Asking for the 500,000 Syrians he murdered … including the 50,000 children who gasped their last breath because of him.”
