FULL SPEED AHEAD: GOP Aims For Kavanaugh Senate Confirmation Early Next Week

   DailyWire.com

On Thursday afternoon, after the hearings featuring Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, who made allegations against him, the GOP announced they would move forward and call for moving Kavanaugh out of the Judiciary Committee on Friday and schedule a procedural vote in the Senate for Saturday, preparing for a vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation by the Senate early next week.

Meanwhile, after the hearing, Senators Susan Collins (R-ME), Lisa Murkowksi (R-AL), Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ) met to discuss the nomination, according to Fox News, which added that they spoke for roughly 30 minutes.

Flake told Fox News, “It’s a tough one. She offered good testimony, and so did he.” But he added, “If you’re making an allegation, you want there to be some corroboration. Where is the burden? It’s like impeachment. You don’t know.” Flake dismissed the idea of taking more time for investigations, saying, “Where does this start, and where does it end? More time, more ludicrous allegations. What does that do to the accused?”
