Florida Republican Congressman Greg Steube Falls Off Roof, Transported To Nearby Hospital

Florida Republican Representative Greg Steube fell off his roof Wednesday and was transported to a hospital in the Sarasota region, local media reported.

Steube, who serves the state’s 17th District, which covers all of Sarasota County, Charlotte County, and portions of Lee County, was discovered by a part-time aide for one of his congressional neighbors that works as an Amazon delivery driver.

Congressman Steube’s official Twitter account confirmed Wednesday night he was involved in an accident on his property and has sustained several injuries.

“We will provide additional updates when possible,” the tweet said. “Please pray for the Congressman and his family.”

The congressman previously served for two years in the Florida Senate and six years in the Florida House.

He currently serves on the House Judiciary and Foreign Affairs Committee.
