Superstar Chris Pratt made it clear he’s still angry about the backlash he faced after posting a message to his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger on Instagram, thanking her for the couple’s “gorgeous, healthy daughter.”

The 43-year-old actor spoke about the criticism he faced over his loving message to his wife during an interview for the July/August issue of Men’s Health. In November 2021, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” star wrote a message to Katherine on social media, thanking her for the support she gives him, as well as their “gorgeous, healthy daughter,” Lyla, now-22-months old.

It was the part about “healthy daughter” that some on social media decided was a swipe at Pratt’s ex-wife actress Anna Faris and their son Jack, who has several health issues, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“I said something like, ‘Find someone who looks at you the way my wife looks at me,’” the Marvel star shared with the magazine. “And then I gave her some s*** in the thing and said, ‘But I love you. I’m so thankful for my wife—she gave me a beautiful, healthy daughter.’”

“And then a bunch of articles came out and said, ‘That’s so cringeworthy. I can’t believe Chris Pratt would thank her for a healthy daughter when his first child was born premature. That’s such a dig at his ex-wife,’” he added. “And I’m like, That is f***ed up.”

“My son’s gonna read that one day,” Pratt continued. “He’s nine. And it’s etched in digital stone. It really f***ing bothered me, dude. I cried about it. I was like, I hate that these blessings in my life are—to the people close to me—a real burden.”

The “Jurassic World” star admitted his publicist wouldn’t be happy to hear him bringing this backlash up again and extending the news cycle of the story.

“My publicist would be like, ‘I’m sweating, Chris, I’m sweating. What happened to the it’s-an-honor-just-to-be-nominated-let’s-move-on f***ing line that we talked about?’”

After the initial backlash, Pratt posted a video on Instagram about how he was feeling “really kind of upset and depressed” as he noted how he found a way to work through it. However, he never directly addressed the criticism he was getting online.

“I knew that if I put on my Christian music playlist and I got out of the woods and ran that I’d feel better, but I just didn’t want to and I did it anyways and gosh was I right,” the actor shared at the time. “It felt amazing. I got out of the woods, got my blood pumping.”

Pratt and Katherine tied the knot in 2019. The two share two daughters together.
