The person who alerted U.S. lawmakers last month to the existence of an FBI record that allegedly shows that then-Vice President Joe Biden was involved in a criminal bribery scheme is a respected FBI source that has been used by the agency for years.
Fox News reported that a person familiar with the matter said the source has been “consistently reviewed by the FBI” and has been “found to be highly credible.”
The source has been used in multiple investigations dating back to the Obama-era.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said this week that FBI Director Christopher Wray confirmed that the file containing the allegations does exist.
“Today, FBI Director Wray confirmed the existence of the FD-1023 form alleging then-Vice President Biden engaged in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national,” Comer said. “However, Director Wray did not commit to producing the documents subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee.”
“While Director Wray – after a month of refusing to even acknowledge that the form existed – has offered to allow us to see the documents in person at FBI headquarters, we have been clear that anything short of producing these documents to the House Oversight Committee is not in compliance with the subpoena,” he added. “If the FBI fails to hand over the FD-1023 form as required by the subpoena, the House Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings.”

Comer and Ranking Member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) will review the document in a sensitive compartmented information facility, known as a SCIF.
An Oversight Committee spokesperson told The Daily Wire that Comer will “receive a briefing from the FBI and review the document on Monday.”
“Chairman Comer has been clear that anything short of producing the FD-1023 form to the House Oversight Committee is not compliance with his subpoena,” the statement continued. “This unclassified record contains pages of details that need to be investigated further by the House Oversight Committee.”
