Donald Trump is a dream come true for the Hillary Clinton campaign. According to documents uncovered in the latest Wikileaks dump, Clinton campaign operatives were absolutely terrified that Trump would not win the Republican presidential nomination.
“Right now I am petrified that Hillary is almost totally dependent on Republicans nominating Trump…she has huge endemic political weaknesses that she would be wise to rectify…even a clown like Ted Cruz would be an even money bet to beat and this scares the hell out of me,” reads a telling email penned by a campaign insider.

One thing is clear. Hillary Clinton’s own campaign knows full well that she’s an incredibly weak candidate. The Democratic nominee’s unfavorables are sky-high. A robot manufactured in Tokyo is probably more relatable to the average American than Bill Clinton’s bitter and corrupt wife. She has the same sort of blind ambition as her husband without any of the charm. Her flaws as a candidate are endless, and that’s before even considering the fact that she may have irreversibly damaged US national security by recklessly sending classified information through a poorly secured personal server.
But there’s one person that may even be more unlikable: Donald J. Trump. Yes, the real estate mogul who has gone out of his way to offend every key voting demographic in the country may very well be the one person that Hillary can beat.
As Hillary’s own operatives stated, “Even a clown like Ted Cruz” would give Hillary a run for her money. Marco Rubio, John Kasich, even Jeb Bush —all contenders that would have likely been neck-and-neck, if not on-top-of the Democratic nominee.
But Republican primary voters opted to take the path of most resistance, choosing the one candidate that makes Hillary Clinton (and Barack Obama for that matter) competent. In nominating Trump, the GOP may have handed the election to Hillary on a silver platter.
