<p>Have you been looking for some <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/inflation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passive income</a> in President Joe Biden&#8217;s America?</p>
<p>Well, perhaps the easiest way to make a buck is to go block a highway in the name of the Black Lives Matter movement and hope for some police pressure to get off the road.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/philadelphia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">City of Philadelphia</a> just <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/20/us/philadelphia-protests-settlement.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a $9.25 million settlement to some 300 or so protesters who were tear-gassed and more by Philadelphia Police because they plopped down on Interstate-676 in the City of Brotherly Love to protest for St. George Floyd in 2020.</p>
<p>“The pain and trauma caused by a legacy of systemic racism and police brutality against Black and Brown Philadelphians is immeasurable,” Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said in a statement about the settlement.</p>
<p>“We hope this settlement will provide some healing from the harm experienced by people in their neighborhoods in West Philadelphia and during demonstrations on I-676 in 2020,” he added.</p>
<p>To be clear, the protesters on I-676 brought traffic to a <a href="https://6abc.com/philadelphia-protest--i676-protest-vine-street-expressway-tear-gas-philly-george-floyd/10729400/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">grinding halt</a> in late spring of 2020. It was a gigantic safety hazard and Philadelphia experienced nighttime riots during that same period.</p>
<p>The city will also donate hundreds of thousands for counseling to a nonprofit called &#8220;Bread &amp; Roses,&#8221; which is a political organization focusing on racial, social, and every other conceivable kind of leftist version of justice.</p>
<p>Similarly, New York City announced last month that it would give <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/20/us/philadelphia-protests-settlement.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">thousands of dollars</a> each to certain protesters who allegedly suffered police brutality during the 2020 riots as well. Sometimes it pays to be woke.</p>
