<p>Dunkin&#8217; Donuts took a page from the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-internets-cleavage-over-sydney-sweeneys-commercial">American Eagle playbook</a> with a recent ad featuring actor Gavin Casalegno from &#8220;The Summer I Turned Pretty,&#8221; and the left is having a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/leftists-crash-out-over-whiteness-of-sexy-sydney-sweeney-jean-ads">collective meltdown</a>, claiming that the ads amount to &#8220;racist dog whistles&#8221; and support for &#8220;eugenics.&#8221;</p>
<p>The ad starts with Casalegno sitting by a pool, dressed in shorts and a button-down shirt only buttoned at his waist. &#8220;Look, I didn&#8217;t ask to be the king of summer. It just kind of happened,&#8221; he says as he walks from the edge of the pool to a lounge chair. &#8220;This tan? Genetics. I just got my color analysis back. Guess what? Golden summer. Literally.&#8221;</p>

<p>The ad, which ran primarily on TikTok, quickly began to rack up the video responses from liberals who compared it to the recent American Eagle ad featuring actress Sydney Sweeney and her &#8220;great [genes] jeans.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;They&#8217;re getting BOLD,&#8221; one complained. &#8220;They were already bold, but they are getting f***ing BOLD right now. Holy s***,&#8221; one woman complained. Text over her video read, &#8220;Another eugenics-based ad &#8230; Get effed Dunkin&#8217; and your nasty watery never consistent shyt coffee.&#8221;</p>

<p>The text over another video read, &#8220;Dunkin&#8217; Donuts learned nothing from AE, Sweeney as they dip their toes into &#8216;perfect genes&#8217; talk.&#8221;</p>
<p>The man in the video added, &#8220;Have you not learned anything Sydney Sweeney and American Eagle?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Now, I understand that these are slight, slight messages that just skim off the top, but once again, we&#8217;re making an ad where we&#8217;re calling out genes and saying these are the perfect genes, I&#8217;ve just been blessed with the perfect genes, and it&#8217;s these white people, have been blessed with the perfect genes,&#8221; he said, claiming that the goal of the Dunkin&#8217; add was to suggest that whiteness was necessary for &#8220;perfect genes&#8221; and adding, &#8220;And they have not apparently see any of the controversy that&#8217;s been going on with American Eagle — or they did and decided, hey, let&#8217;s jump on that!&#8221;</p>
<p>He claimed it was a &#8220;testing of the water&#8221; to see just how far they could go toward pushing the blonde, blue-eyed image of &#8220;perfection.&#8221;</p>

<p>Yet another claimed that Dunkin&#8217; was &#8220;trying to go viral for the wrong reasons,&#8221; and alleged that the drink being advertised had &#8220;0% juice, and the ad has 0% awareness.&#8221;</p>
