Hollywood star Drew Barrymore got very emotional when she talked with Pamela Anderson about the struggles of raising kids in the public eye, something they “didn’t sign up for.”

During “The Drew Barrymore Show” on Monday, the host was speaking with 55-year-old actress about protecting her daughters Olive, 10, and Frankie, 8, with her ex-husband art advisor Will Kopelman from the paparazzi, Page Six reported.

“When I had my kids I was like …that changed everything,” Barrymore explained. “Don’t f*** with my kids. This is not okay. They didn’t sign up for this. It’s so hard.”

Barrymore then really broke down and started crying as Anderson tried to comfort her, agreeing that it was “hard” to have your kids be in a spotlight they never asked for.

The “Baywatch” star who has two adult sons, Brandon and Dylan, with ex-husband Tommy Lee, attempted to encourage the “Charlie’s Angels” star that she was “going to get through this.” She and Lee divorced in 1998.

Barrymore asked Anderson point blank how she managed to do it with her sons, “cause you raised these incredible boys.”

The “Barbwire” star pointed out that with the new “layer” of “social media” you have to be careful and explained that “you just have to make sure that women know how to make themselves safe. From very young girls.”

“Like, oh, I love having kids in this day and age,” Barrymore replied. “And maybe how our lives were the best things for setting us up as parents.”

Later, the celebrities discussed the challenges they have found in trying to find love again after their divorces, with someone who wasn’t their children’s father.

“That’s hard, isn’t it?” Anderson shared. “It’s just that connection you don’t have with anybody else.”

Barrymore spoke to People magazine in December about fighting for her family after her split from Kopelman in 2016, calling the year that followed “cripplingly difficult” and more, as previously reported.  At the time of her divorce, their kids were 2 and 3 years old.

“It just took me down,” the actress shared. “There are times where you can look at someone you think is a strong person and see them so broken and go, ‘How the f*** did they get there?’ And I was that person. I broke.”
