Disney pushed back the release of its live-action “Snow White” a full year after getting slammed for its woke messaging.

The live-action film was supposed to be released in March of next year, and there was no reason given for pushing “Snow White’s” release from 2024 until 2025 as there has been a significant amount of controversy surrounding Disney’s latest live-action adaptation.

Lead actress Rachel Zegler has been slammed for her comments about the original storyline, which involved the titular character falling in love with a handsome prince.

“I mean, you know, the original cartoon came out in 1937 and very evidently so. There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird! Weird. So we didn’t do that this time,” Zegler said of the new version.

“We have a different approach to, what I’m sure a lot of people will assume is a love story, just because we cast a guy in the movie, Andrew Burnap, great dude,” she continued. “It’s one of those things that I think everyone’s going to have their assumptions about what it’s going to be, but it’s really not about the love story at all, which is really, really wonderful.”

Another video showed Zegler bragging about how the new Snow White wasn’t going to be “saved by the prince” or “dreaming about true love.”

“She’s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave and true,” the actress explained.

While it remains unknown if Zegler’s comments had anything to do with Disney delaying the release, experts have already said the actress’ wokifying of “Snow White” could tank the Disney remake. Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing said he believes the ongoing actors’ strike in Hollywood will be used as an excuse for the film’s delayed release.

“My guess is the SAG strike excuse is just cover and that they are actually reshooting large parts of the movie to make it a more faithful adaptation of their own classic film,” Boreing posted on X. “Will be interesting to see how Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot walk back their previous denouncements and insistence that this movie will be different…”

Besides the outspoken lead actress, videos of the new version of the seven dwarves leaked online in July and instantly went viral. Viewers mocked Snow White’s seven culturally diverse companions, which included one dwarf and six full-height adults. Disney denied they were “official photos” but admitted that the leaked snapshots were legitimate.
