Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) has reportedly fallen way behind his opponent in the Democrat Party’s primary for New York’s 16th Congressional District as he continues to embrace anti-Semitic views.
Bowman said during an interview this week that he voted no against a resolution that condemned designated Islamic terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah because the resolution blamed Hamas for its unprecedented October 7 terrorist attack.
Palestinian terrorists stormed into Israel from Gaza early on October 7 and went on to murder 1,200 people, wound 5,300+, kidnap 250+, and engage in a campaign of rape against women and girls.
“One of the first lines [of the resolution] was ‘condemn Hamas for this unprovoked attack.’ And I stopped reading at that point,” Bowman said. “If we’re calling this an unprovoked attack, that means we’re going to ignore 18 human rights organizations calling Israel an apartheid state.”
“There was no way in the world, especially based on what I’ve learned over the last few years in Congress that I was going to support what Israel was doing right now,” he continued. “Now, I am not justifying the killing of civilians by Hamas on Oct. 7th,” he added. “There’s no justification. It’s just an explanation of what the circumstances were that led to Oct. 7th. And I believed then, and I believe now, if you want to end extremism, we need a free Palestine.”

Bowman had sought to distance himself from extremist left-wing views on Israel shortly after the massacre happened when he condemned the Democratic Socialists of America, a Marxist group that promotes the anti-Semitic B.D.S. movement, which seeks to destroy the state of Israel.
However, he was secretly recorded last month admitting that he was still a member of the group and he never let his “dues lapse,” The New York Times reported. When asked about the revelation, he deflected and claimed that the media “has a tendency to talk about B.S., and not focus on the race.”
Westchester County Executive George Latimer, Bowman’s opponent, said that Bowman aligns himself with “extremists.”

“In our democracy, truth still matters, and Mr. Bowman needs to explain why he keeps relying on falsehoods to justify his re-election,” Latimer said.
