Democrat Eric Holder: When Republicans Go Low, ‘We Kick Them’

Former Obama-era attorney general and 2020 presidential hopeful Eric Holder used violent rhetoric over the weekend to describe how Democrats need to respond to Republicans.

Holder, who made the remarks at a campaign event in Georgia, brought up former First Lady Michelle Obama’s phrase, “when they go low, we go high” and said it was wrong.

“No. When they go low, we kick them,” Holder said.

The room responded by chanting “fight” repeatedly before Holder added: “That is what this new Democratic Party is about.”

The violent rhetoric from Holder comes at approximately the same time as two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton used similar rhetoric in an interview with CNN.

“You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about,” Clinton said. “That’s why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again. But until then, the only thing that the Republicans seem to recognize and respect is strength.”
