De Niro: Trump Is Like 9/11

Academy Award winner Robert De Niro has taken Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton so hard that he’s now equating it with the worst act of terrorism committed on American soil. And just think, The Donald hasn’t even been sworn in yet.

The pouty actor recently told The Hollywood Reporter that Trump’s election is emotionally triggering him in the same way as Al Qaeda flying planes into the World Trade Center and killing nearly 3000 of his fellow New Yorkers. “I feel like I did after 9/11,” he told THR two days after the historic upset of Clinton. “And we’ll just see what happens,” he added. “There will be many, many, many, many, many people watching.”

While out promoting his new film, the 73-year-old star was asked by reporters how he’s coping with Clinton’s loss. “How am I doing? I’m very depressed,” he told the media. “We have to just wait and see how things go and keep our eyes ever vigilant on the new government.”

When asked if he thought the protests were appropriate, he answered, “Yes, absolutely. Things aren’t being done right.”

Agreed, things aren’t being “done right,” including rioting in the streets, destruction of property, and violence against innocents, all because your candidate lost — the same candidate many on your side were too lazy to vote for in the first place.

De Niro campaigned hard for his gal Shrillary, going so far as making the video below calling Trump “so blatantly stupid,” “a pig,” “a punk,” and a “dog.”

“He’s a national disaster,” says De Niro. “It makes me so angry that this country has gotten to this point that this fool, this bozo, has gotten where he has.”

ABC News put out the video below contrasting De Niro’s reaction to Trump’s win with that of another legendary actor and Academy Award winner, Jon Voight.
