Think back: Do you remember seeing anything about what Barack Obama ate or drank? Maybe a story here or there about Obama scarfing down a burger with BFF Joe Biden, mainly because wife Michelle was trying to eradicate from every American’s diet anything that wasn’t radicchio or arugula.
We never heard anything about Obama’s alcohol intake, and the press was especially silent about his smoking habit (insider info: Obama bummed cigarettes from staffers from time to time, we heard).
But CNN is positively obsessed with everything President Trump drinks and eats. Everything. And forget that Trump doesn’t drink alcohol — never has — or smoke. The Most Trusted Name In News runs report after report on air and posts stories online about what Trump eats and drinks — sometimes even how he drinks.

On Tuesday, CNN mocked Trump for using both hands to take a sip of water during a speech.
“That is the sippy-cup grip that you’re using right now,” Chris Cuomo said. The CNN host then held a vase like he was drinking, saying, “This is what I drink out of and I hold it like a man, with one hand. That’s me.”

When the New York Times reported that Trump sometimes downs 12 Diet Cokes in a day, CNN was there with the breaking news. “A 12 Diet Cokes-a-day habit like Trump’s is worth changing,” a concerned CNN wrote.
“One-a-day diet soda drinkers were nearly three times as likely as those who never drink diet soda to be diagnosed with dementia, as well, the researchers found,” CNN said. Aha! A smoking gun! If one soda a day can do that, a dozen must surely mean Trump has dementia, right?

CNN is also fixated on Trump’s diet. As everyone knows, while Trump is a billionaire, he still enjoys the fattier things in life, like pizza and fried chicken and fast food burgers. In a video report, Jeanne Moos totals up his calories by saying Trump will eat two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fishes and guzzle down a chocolate shake for a “gut-busting 2,430 calories.”
“Eating 111 grams of fat in one meal makes Trump filet-o-president,” Moos said (whatever that means).

And of course, CNN was all over “Ice Cream Gate.”
“According to an extensive interview with TIME Magazine, Trump’s White House staff has settled into Trump’s routine and know his desires, sometimes before he does,” CNN reported. “For example: Trump takes two scoops of ice cream with his chocolate cream pie, TIME reported, while everyone else around the table gets just one.”
That was an actual story on CNN.
No wonder Trump calls the network “fake news.”
