The king of fake news, or, as President Trump now calls it, “very fake news,” is working overtime to paint Trump as the worst thing that’s every happened to humanity.
The liberal network, so full of “hatred,” says Trump, is scouring the countryside trying to find stories that are damaging to the presidency and to bolster its liberal, even Socialist, ideals.
Case in point: A report last week that Trump actually wants to put Mexicans out of work.
In a online report, headlined “This Mexican mom’s big fear: Trump will take my job,” CNN Money writer Patrick Gillespie says that Hilda Roldan, a mother of four who works in a textile factory in Puebla, Mexico, could lose her job if the United States starts producing more of its own goods.
“The question is: What are we going to do?” Roldan asks.
The report notes that the U.S. lost 5 million manufacturing jobs since 2000, with a big chunk of that moving to Mexico after the passage of the North American Free Trade Act.
But CNN says: the “vast majority of those jobs aren’t coming back” and claims that if they did, it’d be bad for Americans.
“‘ There is no infrastructure to produce textiles in the U.S. nor are there workers who would be willing to work for those wages,’ says Carlos Peyrelongue, a research analyst at Bank of Americ (BAC)in Mexico City. Peyrelongue warns that bringing back jobs like Roldan’s to the U.S. would mean American shoppers would pay “substantially more, we’re talking, 30%, 40%, 50%, 100% more” for clothes because U.S. workers are paid a lot more.’ “
What’s more, says CNN, creating jobs in America — and taking them from Mexico — will just be more bad news for the U.S.
“While Roldan fears Trump puts her job at risk, her boss, Gustavo Bojalil, warns that Trump better be careful what he wishes for. Roldan might not go to the U.S. but Bojalil argues many other Mexicans workers will. ‘If there’s less work here, what do you think is going to happen? More Mexicans are going to go to the United States,’ says [Gustavo] Bojalil, who employs 180 workers at his plant in Puebla.”
So, the next time you think about America First, just remember the poor Mexican who soon won’t be able to find a job, you heartless jerk.
