Hillary Clinton suffered her worst public coughing fit of the campaign on Monday during a campaign event in Cleveland, OH. The coughing fit began moments after she took the microphone to speak following a brief introductory speech from vice presidential running mate Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA).
“Every time I think of Trump I get allergic,” quipped Clinton as she attempted to subdue her cough.
Clinton is certainly aware of this problem, given her production of some candy, lozenge, or other medication to soothe her cough. Another person, presumably an aide, is seen hanging her some other consumable to alleviate the cough. Her voice was noticeably hoarse for the remainder of her speech.
Clinton has been displaying persistent coughing across many public events since at least early 2016.

NBC’s Monica Alba, who is covering Clinton’s campaign, took to Twitter to share her recollection:
During the Labor Day speech, Clinton praised union heads such as Randi Weingarten and Richard Trumpka. Weingarten opposes all proposals to introduce free market reform to public schooling, most notably “school choice” measures. Trumpka opposes “right-to-work” legislation with seeks to prevent mandatory enrollment in unions for varying fields of work.
Labor unions spent over $112 million on lobbying last year, virtually all on supporting “liberal groups” and Democrats.
