<p>Kansas City Chiefs kicker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chiefs-kicker-says-parade-shooting-wasnt-about-the-guns-we-need-strong-fathers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harrison Butker</a> criticized President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies while delivering a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JS7RIKSaCc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commencement address</a> at a Catholic liberal arts school over the weekend.</p>
<p>The three-time Super Bowl champion suggested that Biden, who like Butler is Catholic, has betrayed his faith with his support of abortion access.</p>
<p>&#8220;Bad policies and poor leadership have negatively impacted major life issues,&#8221; Butler said on Saturday during the <a href="https://media.benedictine.edu/2024-benedictine-college-commencement-celebrates-the-largest-graduating-class-in-history" target="_blank" rel="noopener">undergraduate ceremony</a> at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas.</p>
<p>Butler said &#8220;things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as a growing support for degenerate cultural values in media, all stem from the pervasiveness of disorder.&#8221;</p>

<p>The place kicker then made reference to Biden without mentioning his name, describing how the president made a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/devout-catholic-president-makes-sign-of-the-cross-at-pro-abortion-rally" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sign of the cross</a> <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-makes-sign-of-the-cross-during-pro-abortion-speech-in-florida" target="_blank" rel="noopener">during a pro-abortion speech</a> by a fellow Democrat in Florida last month.</p>
<p>&#8220;Our nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally,&#8221; Butker said.</p>
<p>&#8220;He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people, it appears you can be both Catholic and pro-choice,&#8221; he added.</p>
<p>Biden is &#8220;not alone,&#8221; Butker went on.</p>
<p>&#8220;From the man behind the COVID lockdowns, to the people pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America, they all have a glaring thing in common — they are Catholic,&#8221; Butker said. &#8220;This is an important reminder that being Catholic alone doesn’t cut it.&#8221;</p>
<p>Butker previously <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/sports/harrison-butkers-wardrobe-makes-pro-life-statement-chiefs-white-house-visit" target="_blank" rel="noopener">made headlines</a> for wearing a tie emblazoned with the Latin pro-life phrase &#8220;Vulnerari Praesidio&#8221; — which translates to &#8220;Protect the most vulnerable&#8221; — as he and his Chiefs teammates celebrated one of their Super Bowl victories at the White House last year.</p>
<p>Later in his commencement address on Saturday, Butker took aim at DEI before going on to critique <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/house-passes-bill-to-codify-definition-of-anti-semitism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a House-passed bill</a> to codify a definition of anti-Semitism.</p>
<p>&#8220;The world around us says that we should keep our beliefs to ourselves whenever they go against the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We fear speaking truth because now unfortunately truth is in the minority.&#8221;</p>
