Actress Charlize Theron says she hasn’t had plastic surgery or put fillers in her face, despite rumors claiming she has.
“My face is changing, and I love that my face is changing and aging,” the 48-year-old actress said in a recent interview with Allure.
Theron went on to address speculation running rampant among her fan base. She claimed any changes to her appearance are the result of time, not cosmetic procedures. “People think I’ve had a facelift. They’re like, ‘What did she do to her face?’ I’m like, ‘B***, I’m just aging! It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens,'” the “Atomic Blonde” actress continued.
She said there is a double standard between the sexes regarding aging.
“I’ve always had issues with the fact that men kind of age like fine wines and women like cut flowers,” Theron said. “I despise that concept and I want to fight against it, but I also think women want to age in a way that feels right to them. I think we need to be a little bit more empathetic to how we all go through our journey,” Theron told the outlet. “My journey of having to see my face on a billboard is quite funny now.”
The “Fast X” actress also discussed how her two children see and react to the aging process.

“They see somebody, they like what they’re wearing, or they think they’re pretty and they don’t really know if she’s in her 20s or she’s in her 60s,” she said. “It’s so great. I love that. I wish we could just maintain that.”
Theron is the mother of two adopted children, one of whom she says has identified as transgender since the age of three.
“Yes, I thought she was a boy, too,” Theron told the Daily Mail of Jackson in 2019. “Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said, ‘I am not a boy.’”
“My job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be,” the actress said of her children. “And I will do everything in my power for my kids to have that right and to be protected within that.”
