Charlamagne Tha God slammed liberals who he said are celebrating the sentencing of President-elect Donald Trump in his hush money trial.
During “The Breakfast Club” show on Monday, the radio host said that liberals were being ridiculous for making more out of the sentencing by Judge Juan Merchan in the New York case — related to hush money paid to Stephanie Clifford, a porn actress who goes by the name Stormy Daniels — than they should.

“What a waste of time. I mean, what a waste of time. Pure political theater,” he said. “They was never, ever going to convict a former or sitting president of nothing.”
“And what was even more ridiculous was watching liberals celebrate this,” he added. “Like, this is not a win. Who cares if you can call him a convicted felon when you still got to call him president for the next four years? Who cares?”

It comes after Merchan sentenced Trump to an unconditional discharge, meaning that the President-elect would not face jail time, probation, or a fine. However, it does allow those on the left to continue to label the president-elect a convicted felon.
Last May, Trump was found guilty on all charges in the hush money case by a New York jury. He was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to hide payments that were allegedly sent to Daniels in exchange for her silence on an alleged extramarital affair, as previously reported. Trump has denied the charges and said that the trial was politically motivated.
Following Merchan’s decision, Trump took to Truth Social and made it clear that he planned to appeal.
“The real Jury, the American People, have spoken, by Re-Electing me with an overwhelming MANDATE in one of the most consequential Elections in History,” Trump wrote.
“As the American People have seen, this ‘case’ had no crime, no damages, no proof, no facts, no Law, only a highly conflicted Judge, a star witness who is a disbarred, disgraced, serial perjurer, and criminal Election Interference,” he added.
“Today’s event was a despicable charade, and now that it is over, we will appeal this Hoax, which has no merit, and restore the trust of Americans in our once great System of Justice. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!,” the president-elect continued.
