“Full House” actress Candace Cameron Bure recently spoke about moving her family out of Los Angeles.

The 48-year-old discussed what led to the decision during an interview with Fox News Digital. “We didn’t feel safe anymore,” Bure told the outlet. “And that was the biggest reason that we moved.”

“Not everyone in Hollywood lives behind guard gates, and we weren’t behind gates,” she added, noting how her family had experienced “quite a few problems” related to emboldened fans coming onto her property, snapping photos, and approaching the door uninvited.

“It’s amazing what people feel they can do,” Bure said. “And wanting to be a part of your life in some way. Some of it is innocent, some of it wasn’t. But it’s quite unnerving when you’re just trying to be a person and live life, and you don’t know what’s around the corner.”

The conversation came after the Great American Family network star confirmed on Instagram that her family had moved.

“Many of you have asked, ‘Did you move?’ Yes.'” Bure shared on Instagram stories in March.

“Why?’ Mostly for security reasons,” the post said. “Also, family dynamics have changed. The kids don’t live in Los Angeles anymore. Mama will go where they go! I travel a lot. The seasons of life.”

“There have been all kinds of stories as to where we moved, and none of them are right,” Bure said, per Fox News. “None of them. We didn’t move to Nashville. We didn’t move to Texas. We’re actually still in California. We just moved up north. We’re no longer in Los Angeles.”

Bure and her husband, Russian NHL hockey player Valeri Bure, share three adult children together. She previously spoke about her changing lifestyle now that her kids are grown and out of the house.

“And I think at this stage of my life, because we’re kind of empty nesters, really, it’s about finding the new fun in our life and the things that we’re doing together or where we’re going to go and meeting new people and new friends,” she said of keeping her marriage strong. “And it … kind of never stops. It continues to evolve, and it’s what keeps it healthy.”
