Actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Cameron Diaz</a> says she wants society to “normalize” the idea of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/marriage">married</a> couples sleeping in separate bedrooms.
The 51-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">star</a> has been married to Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden since 2015. The couple has one child together.
Diaz made her comments about having separate spaces during an appearance on the “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast. When one of the other women said her husband snores, the “Charlie’s Angels” star said she prefers living together, but apart.
“We should normalize separate bedrooms,” Diaz <a href="https://art19.com/shows/lipstick-on-the-rim">said</a>. “To me, I would literally, I have my house, you have yours. We have the family house in the middle. I will go and sleep in my room. You go sleep in your room. I’m fine.”
“And we have the bedroom in the middle that we can convene in for our relations,” she added.
When one of the podcast hosts mentioned that her stance could be seen as controversial, Diaz brushed it off with a joke.
“I’ve already said it,” Diaz said. “By the way, I don’t feel that way now because my husband is so wonderful. I said that before I got married.”
The concept is not new to Hollywood celebrities. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Brad Falchuk, live in different houses.

Another famous couple rumored to have slept apart was Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. According to the late monarch’s biography, this arrangement worked well for them and was very common among royals and other members of upper-class British society.

She insisted this didn’t have any bearing on the strength of the relationship.

“Dilbert” cartoonist Scott Adams said he received a call from President Donald Trump after announcing that he’d been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
“Somebody’s calling me from some number I don’t recognize, something in Florida and I sent it to voicemail. And a little bit later I thought, I better check that voicemail and see if that was anything I need to deal with. And the first sentence in the transcription, cause you know the phone gives you the text version of the voicemail as well. The first sentence is, ‘This is your favorite president.’ And I thought to myself, no, did I just send the most important person in the world to voicemail?” Adams told the audience of his “Real Coffee with Scott Adams” show.
The cartoonist said Trump left a message asking him to call him back, but he thought that was “ridiculous” because the president would be too busy.
“Same day, it’s the afternoon, and all of a sudden another call comes through, also from Florida, and I thought to myself, no f***ing way, there’s no way he’s calling me again, and I answer it, and it’s Trump,” he continued.
“At the end, the strangest thing happened at the end of the call when he found out, you know, the situation was kind of dire, and I was still checking out some things that might help, he said, ‘If you need anything, I’ll make it happen,&#8217;” Adams went on.
“And he meant it. He was completely aware of our, let’s say, parallel journeys from 2015, he mentioned it, and it was just the most incredible, weird, hard to understand situation, but boy, was it fun.”

Adams recently made the announcement that he has the same cancer as former President Joe Biden.
“I’ve decided today’s the day I’m going to take the opportunity — since a lot of you are here — to make an announcement of my own. Some of you have already guessed, so it won’t surprise you at all, but I have the same cancer Joe Biden has,” he said during an episode of his show.
“So I also have prostate cancer that has also spread to my bones. I’ve had it longer than he’s had — well longer than he’s admitted having it,” Adams added.

Scott Adams Reveals Trump Called Him To ‘Check In’ After Terminal Cancer Diagnosis

“Gladiator II” actor Paul Mescal said Hollywood is changing its approach to leading males. 
The 29-year-old Irish star made the remarks while promoting his new gay romantic drama, “History of Sound,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. 
“It’s ever shifting,” he said during a press conference for the film, per <a href="https://variety.com/2025/film/festivals/paul-mescal-masculinity-brokeback-mountain-cannes-1236406568/">Variety</a>. “I think maybe in cinema we’re moving away from the traditional, alpha, leading male characters. I don’t think the film is defining or attempting to redefine masculinity, I think it is being very subjective to the relationship between [the movie’s characters] Lionel and David.”
This was similar to comments he made last year about the state of masculinity in modern society.
&#8220;There&#8217;s a sort of crisis in masculinity I think at the moment and what it means to be a man,” Mescal <a href="https://news.sky.com/story/andrew-scott-and-paul-mescal-on-toxic-masculinity-the-most-macho-man-will-be-the-first-to-break-13054759">told</a> Sky News at the time. “We have all these things within us, there&#8217;s no one way of being, there just isn&#8217;t, and sometimes the people who are the most outwardly macho in some ways, are the people who aren&#8217;t going to be there for you emotionally.”
Mescal also bristled at the comparisons being made between “History of Sound” and the popular gay romance “Brokeback Mountain” (2005), which starred Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal.

“I personally don’t see the parallels at all with ‘Brokeback Mountain,’ other than we spent a little time in a tent,” he said. “[‘Brokeback’] is a beautiful film but it is dealing with the idea of repression … I find those comparisons relatively lazy and frustrating, but for the most part I think the relationship I have to the film is born out of the fact that it’s a celebration between these men’s love and not the repression of their sexuality.”
Per the movie’s description, “History of Sound” is about “two young men &#8212; Lionel (Paul Mescal) and David (Josh O&#8217;Connor) &#8212; in the shadows of WWI who are determined to record the lives, voices and music of their American countrymen. As they begin to log the events, the two fall in love.”
Previously, Mescal defended himself against being cast as a gay man in films despite being heterosexual in real life. 
“It depends [on] who’s in charge of telling the story,” the actor <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/life-style/article/paul-mescal-im-not-just-the-token-irish-hunk-jrhcs688f?region=global">told</a> The Sunday Times while discussing another project, “All of Us Strangers.”
“The issue is that there have been so many queer performances in cinema that have been offensive, but that’s because the filmmakers and the actors have been careless,” he added.

‘Gladiator II’ Actor Says Hollywood Is ‘Moving Away’ From ‘Alpha’ Male Roles

An AI-generated list of recommended reading for the summer, published by the Chicago Sun-Times, included several books that don’t exist.
Per <a href="https://www.npr.org/2025/05/20/nx-s1-5405022/fake-summer-reading-list-ai">NPR</a>, at least one edition of The Philadelphia Inquirer used the same flawed list, titled “Summer reading list for 2025.&#8221; Suggested titles included “Tidewater Dreams,” purportedly authored by Chilean American novelist Isabel Allende, which was described as her &#8220;first climate fiction novel.&#8221; Allende is a real person, but the suggested novel is not a book she or anyone else published.
Another suggestion was “The Rainmakers,” which is described as a story set in a &#8220;near-future American West where artificially induced rain has become a luxury commodity.” This faux novel was said to be written by 2025 Pulitzer Prize winner Percival Everett.
The outlet noted that only five of the 15 books suggested were real titles.

The article&#8217;s author, Marco Buscaglia, addressed the error, writing in an email to NPR, &#8220;Huge mistake on my part and has nothing to do with the Sun-Times. They trust that the content they purchase is accurate and I betrayed that trust. It&#8217;s on me 100 percent.&#8221;

The paper also <a href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/press-room/2025/05/20/chicago-sun-times-response-to-may-18-special-section">issued a response</a> to subscribers, noting that the person responsible for the error had been terminated and promising the mistake would not happen again. They said subscribers would not be charged for the premium edition and said more care would be put into checking for AI-generated content in the future.
“We are in a moment of great transformation in journalism and technology, and at the same time our industry continues to be besieged by business challenges. This should be a learning moment for all journalism organizations: Our work is valued — and valuable — because of the humanity behind it,” the statement said.
“At Chicago Public Media, we are proud of our credible, independent journalism, created for and by people. And part of the journalistic process is a commitment to acknowledging mistakes. It is unacceptable that this content was inaccurate, and it is equally unacceptable that we did not make it clear to readers that the section was produced outside the Sun-Times newsroom.”

Chicago Sun-Times Published A.I.-Generated Summer Reading List With Books That Don’t Exist

Day eight of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial included testimony from his former assistant, George Kaplan, who detailed how he both set up and covered up his employer’s infamous “freak off” parties in hotel rooms.
Kaplan testified that he worked long days, clocking 80 to 100 hours per week and at least once being on shift for close to 24 hours straight, per <a href="https://www.cnn.com/entertainment/live-news/diddy-trial-cassie-court-case-05-21-25">CNN</a>. The former executive assistant reported that he was paid around $125,000 and that Combs threatened his employment frequently, saying he would be let go over mistakes, such as purchasing the wrong item at a store. 
Kaplan said he was tasked with answering phone calls, emails, and texts from Combs, including requests for “clothing or potentially food from somewhere, or drugs or liquor or an iPad or a speaker,” the outlet noted. He was also required to fly to various cities such as New York, Miami, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and Orlando to deliver a “hotel bag” containing a speaker, candles, liquor, baby oil, extra clothing, and Astroglide lubricant. 
Combs’ former assistant said he also understood his job to include visiting the hotel room after his employer left to clean up evidence of the parties, which might consist of empty bottles of baby oil and lube, and in one instance, drug residue. He testified that this was done to “protect” Combs’ image and ensure hotel cleaning staff could not take pictures and publicize them, as ABC News <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/sean-combs-trial-day-12-recap-jurors-hear/story?id=122050227">reported</a>.

Kaplan confirmed that the “freak offs” lasted several days and included prostitutes, drugs, and alcohol. The assistant claimed Combs asked him to buy illegal drugs on two occasions, including a bag of MDMA in Miami and an unknown substance in Los Angeles. 
Also on day eight of the trial, clinical and forensic psychologist Dawn Hughes testified about the tendency for victims of domestic abuse to stay in abusive relationships. This comes after the prosecution’s star witness, Cassie Ventura, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/diddy-trial-combs-ex-girlfriend-cassie-ventura-shares-graphic-details-of-freak-offs">took the stand</a> to testify against Combs. Ventura and Combs were together for 11 years, and she accused him of physical, mental, and sexual abuse during that time.
Rapper Kid Cudi is expected to testify on Thursday, and Kaplan will face cross-examination from the defense. Combs’ legal team seeks to prove that his unconventional sex life was shocking but not illegal. Meanwhile, he has been charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Combs pleaded not guilty to the charges. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Diddy Trial: Witness Says He Concealed ‘Freak Off’ Party Aftermath From Hotel Staff

President Trump continued trolling recording artist Bruce Springsteen this week as part of an ongoing feud.
The post shared Wednesday morning from his verified X account showed a video clip of Trump swinging his golf club spliced with footage of Springsteen stumbling up a flight of stairs during a concert in 2023.

This move comes after several days of back and forth. While the two have never been fans of each other, Springsteen started the most recent fight when he opened his “Land of Hopes and Dreams” tour in the U.K. by delivering a lengthy diatribe against the president.
“In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration. Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experiment to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism and let freedom ring!” Springsteen said, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nobody-cares-bruce-springsteen-mocked-for-tirade-against-trump">reported</a>.
The longtime Democrat supporter made multiple political statements during his two-and-a-half-hour-long set, including complaining about the deportation of illegal aliens and “rolling back historic civil rights legislation that has led to a more just and plural society.”
President Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114517896576879203">hit back</a> against the aging musician, calling him a “dried out prune of a rocker” and saying that Springsteen “ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare’. Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!”
On Monday, Trump called for a “major investigation&#8221; into Springsteen and other musicians for “illegal campaign contribution[s]” allegedly made during Kamala Harris&#8217; bid for office. 
“Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for ENDORSEMENTS, which is what Kamala did, under the guise of paying for entertainment,” he wrote in part. “In addition, this was a very expensive and desperate effort to artificially build up her sparse crowds. IT’S NOT LEGAL! For these unpatriotic ‘entertainers,’ this was just a CORRUPT &amp; UNLAWFUL way to capitalize on a broken system.”
Many fans were critical of Springsteen using the stage as a platform to spew political opinions, pointing out how the singer chose to make the rants on foreign soil. 
Besides being an outspoken Democrat supporter, Springsteen is a friend of former President Barack Obama and campaigned for both of his presidential campaigns. The singer headlined rallies for both Joe Biden and Harris during the last election cycle.

Who’s The Boss? Trump Trolls Bruce Springsteen, Again

More than two weeks after President Donald Trump announced a 100% tariff on movies produced outside of the United States, Los Angeles Democratic Mayor Karen Bass issued an executive order on Tuesday that she says will cut red tape and make it easier for entertainment professionals to film in her city.
The move comes after production has shifted dramatically toward different locations outside the city, including U.S.-based filming spots and foreign countries where it’s cheaper and easier to make movies and television shows.
“We are going to fight now,” Bass <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/20/movies/los-angeles-film-industry.html">said</a>. “While we push for the tax credits to be passed in Sacramento, we need to do what we can today to impact building in Los Angeles.
“The City is taking bold action to support our legacy industry,” she continued. “Keeping entertainment production in L.A. means keeping good-paying jobs in L.A., and that’s what we are fighting for.”
Specific popular locations in L.A., which she says will be easier for filmmakers to access, include the Griffith Observatory, the L.A. Central Library, and the Port of Los Angeles, among others. The directive also reduces the number of city employees who must be on-site during filming down to one.

The move comes after President Trump made <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-movie-industry-is-dying-puts-plan-in-place-to-save-it">headlines</a> saying Hollywood was dying a &#8220;very fast death,&#8221; calling incentives from other countries to produce movies outside of the United States &#8220;a national security threat.&#8221; 
“Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States. Hollywood, and many other areas within the U.S.A., are being devastated,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social earlier this month.
“It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda! Therefore, I am authorizing the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100% Tariff on any and all Movies coming into our Country that are produced in Foreign Lands,” he added. “WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!”
