Bruce Willis‘ wife Emma Willis shared a touching post on their wedding anniversary amid the actor’s dementia battle and said her “love and adoration” for her husband has grown.

In a post on Instagram, the 68-year-old actor’s wife shared two pictures of the couple embracing and wrote, “16 years with this special man. My love and adoration for him only grows.”

She also opened up about the holidays and anniversaries being hard, but credited her support circle with getting her through it.

“I was able to have a good cry [with a friend],” Emma shared in a second post. “It is really important to be able to have someone that you can trust with your feelings instead of just bottling them up and putting your best foot forward and just kind of soldiering through stuff, which I have a tendency to do.”

“You know, holidays are hard, anniversaries are hard,” she added. “But for me, this year, it has really been about community, building a community and connection. And I just want to say that has been my lifeline and I just want to thank you for that.”

The “Die Hard” star and Emma tied the knot in 2009 and share two daughters, Evelyn and Mabel. Willis was previously married to actress Demi Moore and they share three daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.

In February, the actor’s family shared a joint statement that he’d been officially diagnosed with dementia following a report a year earlier that Willis was diagnosed with aphasia.

“Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis,” the statement read. “In the spirit of that, we wanted to give you an update about our beloved husband, father and friend since we now have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing.”

“Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD),” the statement added. “Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”

The statement was signed by the “Red” star’s wife, their two daughters, along with Moore and their three adult daughters.
