But after the </span><a href="https://pagesix.com/2026/05/12/celebrity-news/demi-moores-toned-arms-take-center-stage-on-cannes-film-festival-2026-red-carpet/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">New York Post</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> ran a headline about “Demi Moore’s toned arms,” the internet clapped back at the use of “toned” to describe the severely anatomical detail of her upper limbs. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It wasn’t “toned”; it was terrifying. A natural beauty now in her sixties, she had morphed into the evanescent incarnation of dark diet culture. And the media were all in. Thankfully, many onlookers pushed back. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Daily Wire host </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DYS6kdIlkq1/?img_index=2"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Isabel Brown</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> posted, “This is equally as damaging to women’s health conversations as normalizing morbid obesity is.” </span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/reels/DYQwckfSPdP/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Riley Gaines</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> quipped, “Demi Moore actually looks like she’s on the brink of death … Girls, don’t believe the lie that this is what it looks like to be ‘toned.’” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“That is neither muscle nor healthy. It is phenomenally sad that she looks in the mirror and sees this as a win,” one </span><a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/popculture/comments/1tceaqy/comment/olnr9i2/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Redditor</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> posted. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As a society, we’re pretty cool about offering others a wide berth to live life in a variety of possible body shapes, delivering grace when it’s needed. But when does empathy become enabling? Is it kind to let an impending train wreck speed straight off the rails, or do we have a moral obligation to pull the emergency brake? </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Moore’s apparent emotional bedrock, Bruce Willis, has been suffering from </span><a href="https://www.today.com/health/disease/bruce-willis-health-rcna99998"><span style="font-weight: 400;">dementia</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> since 2022. No one would argue that she shouldn’t be afforded the room to grieve. But two things can be true at once, and 63-year-old Moore has previously admitted to punishing her body in the name of beauty.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In 2025, Moore described her new “self-care” routine, telling </span><a href="https://people.com/worlds-most-beautiful-demi-moore-cover-story-photos-exclusive-11717760"><span style="font-weight: 400;">People</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, “I have a greater appreciation for all that my body has been through that brought me to now … It doesn’t define my value or who I am.” She admitted to once doing “crazy things like biking from Malibu all the way to Paramount, which is about 26 miles. All because I placed so much value on what my outsides looked like.” In the same breath, she said she was “so much more about my overall health and longevity” now.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It was just a few months after she won </span><a href="https://www.npr.org/2025/01/06/nx-s1-5249981/demi-moore-golden-globes-the-substance"><span style="font-weight: 400;">her first</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> major acting award: a </span><a href="https://pagesix.com/2026/05/12/celebrity-news/demi-moores-toned-arms-take-center-stage-on-cannes-film-festival-2026-red-carpet/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Golden Globe</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for “The Substance,” which is about a black market anti-aging </span><a href="https://www.flixist.com/review-the-substance/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">drug</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. As part of her acceptance speech, she recalled, “In those moments when we don’t think we’re smart enough or pretty enough or skinny enough or successful enough … I had a woman say to me, ‘Just know you will never be enough, but you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick.’”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maybe Moore allegedly ditched the measuring stick, but it seems she doesn’t live up to her own beauty standard. Still, it’s not unreasonable to redirect the focus to medical professionals who continue to prescribe weight-loss drugs to vulnerable A-listers who are starving themselves and then convince fans to follow suit.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On the jury to select the Cannes festival’s Palme d’Or, Moore first made a red carpet splash in a sequined and sculpted Jacquemus gown, followed by a fuchsia look by French cult favorite Matières Fécales (yep, that’s “fecal matter” in French, for anyone who’s been following along since the </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fake-urine-famesick-celebs-and-100k-tickets-inside-the-grotesque-hypocrisy-of-the-met-gala"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Met Gala</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">). The pink reflected a rosy glow onto her porcelain skin as her mantis-like frame appeared to be propped up by an enormous bow of intentionally tattered fabric in a fashionable “</span><a href="https://www.harpersbazaar.com/fashion/a71328540/demi-moore-cannes-matieres-fecales-dress-stylist-interview-red-carpet/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">state of decay</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.” Touché. </span></p>

Flattering media certainly doesn’t help. And </span><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk_ZUYegt14"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wegovy</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> launched a star-studded awards season campaign normalizing doing weight loss drugs, comparing dosing the GLP-1 pill to rescuing kittens in trees. Why </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">wouldn’t </span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">you take it? Be a good person!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“In a clinical setting, these changes from baseline are cause for alarm,” celeb nutritionist </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Jess Baker </span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><a href="https://pagesix.com/2026/03/15/celebrity-news/stylists-fear-stars-are-blind-to-how-skinny-they-really-are/">said</a> of the hollow muscle wasting she sees in GLP-1 overusers. “They can indicate malnutrition, meaning the body isn’t getting enough of what it needs to function.”</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Frustratingly, celebrities will never come clean about the massive resources they have at their disposal to set the current standard of beauty, while the rest of us mill around the Walgreens clearance section like Children of the Corn. However this GLP-1 thing shakes out, we can almost guarantee there will be a pharmaceutical antidote we won’t be able to afford.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But as a precursor to societal doom via hot girl pharma, maybe we could stop propping those who are dangerously overweight or</span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">devastatingly thin, as a picture of health. We’ve walked way over the line on whether we should or shouldn’t talk about women’s bodies, and maybe it’s time we get honest about what’s healthy. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Evolutionary behavioral scientist </span><a href="https://www.newsweek.com/2021/05/28/gad-saad-cancel-culture-idea-pathogens-future-discourse-1593467.html"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Gad Saad</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> offers a term for not speaking the truth on the chance it will hurt someone’s feelings: “forbidden knowledge.” Pretending that someone is well when she isn’t is not empowering; it’s dangerous. </span></p>

<p>Emma Willis, wife of actor Bruce Willis, has shared new details about life after his frontotemporal dementia (FTD) diagnosis, including what she calls the most difficult decision she’s had to make.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Emma, 47, made the comments during an <a href="https://abc.com/news/83a8aa7b-dc91-47c4-b9b4-62dd550661cc/category/1138628">interview</a> with ABC’s Diane Sawyer that aired on Tuesday. “Emma &amp; Bruce Willis: The Unexpected Journey” traces the family’s path, beginning with their March 2022 announcement of Bruce’s retirement from acting and exploring how they’ve moved forward since.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Bruce is in really great health overall, you know. It’s just his brain that is failing him,” Emma told Sawyer</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">. “The language is going, and, you know, we’ve learned to adapt,” she said. “And we have a way of communicating with him, which is just a different, a different way.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Emma said she believes the “Die Hard” star recognizes her and his five daughters because of how he “lights up” when they’re around.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“He’s holding our hands. We’re kissing him. We’re hugging him,” she told Sawyer. “He is reciprocating. You know, he is into it.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“And so that’s all I need, you know?” Emma added. “I don’t need him to know that I am his wife, and we were married on this day … I don’t need any of that. I just wanna feel that I have a connection with him. And I do.”</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Emma explained how some of the first signs of FTD included personality changes, like Bruce becoming quieter when he used to be talkative. “He felt a little removed, a little cold, not like Bruce, who is very warm and affectionate. To go the complete opposite of that was alarming and scary,” she said. “I didn’t understand what was happening, and I thought just, like, ‘How can I remain in a marriage that doesn’t feel like what we had?’”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">She said Bruce, now 70, also started missing lines during filming and seemed confused, which was abnormal for him. They received the FTD diagnosis and were told there was no treatment or cure.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">FTD is “the result of damage to neurons in the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain,” </span><a href="https://www.nia.nih.gov/health/frontotemporal-disorders/what-are-frontotemporal-disorders-causes-symptoms-and-treatment"><span style="font-weight: 400;">according to</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> the National Institute on Aging. Symptoms can include “unusual behaviors, emotional problems, trouble communicating, difficulty with work, or difficulty with walking.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Emma also discussed moving Bruce to a detached one-story house to be with his caregiving team full-time, calling it “one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make.” She told Sawyer she visits him daily and eats meals with him twice per day.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I knew first and foremost Bruce would want that for our daughters. He would want them to be in a home that was more tailored to their needs, not his needs. We’re there a lot. It’s our second home, so [the] girls have their things there. It is a house that is filled with love and warmth and care and laughter, and it’s been beautiful to see that. To see how many of Bruce’s friends continue to show up for him and they bring in life and fun,” she said.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bruce and Emma got married in Turks and Caicos in March 2009 and went on to have two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn. The actor was previously married to Demi Moore for 12 years and has three daughters with her: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.</span></p>

<p>Responding to Willis&#8217; photos — which she captioned, &#8220;Sunday funday at Grams ! Grateful&#8221; — one fan suggested that perhaps she should not share photos of her father as he continues to struggle with his health.</p>
<p>&#8220;I don’t think you should expose your dad to the public! He is vulnerable! And some things should be kept private! You don’t have his permission to post it!&#8221; the comment read.</p>
<p>&#8220;Hi. I hear that. As a family we use our discretion when posting. Today was a great day filled with smiles,&#8221; Tallulah responded to the comment directly. &#8220;I made the judgment call to show that to the world, because I know what he means to everyone.&#8221;</p>
<p>The majority of the comments were positive, however, and many shared personal stories of their own loved ones who had suffered from dementia or other similar conditions. Most defended Willis in her decision to celebrate and share the good moments whenever they came, saying that it was clear from the photos that he was surrounded by family and well-loved.</p>
<p>The beloved action star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bruce-willis-reveals-diagnosis-that-is-taking-him-out-of-the-hollywood-game">left Hollywood</a> abruptly in 2022, publicly sharing a diagnosis of aphasia. Several months later, his family revealed that he&#8217; been diagnosed with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-bruce-willis-diagnosed-with-frontotemporal-dementia">frontotemporal dementia</a>.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It’s OK to tear up during the Western’s final moments. Honest. Up until then, director George Stevens’ film showcases why masculinity matters.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Alan Ladd plays the title character, a retired gunslinger who decides to help ranchers at the mercy of a local thug. Shane wants to put killing behind him, but getting to know the Starrett clan changes those plans.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Decent people deserve someone who can protect them. Their survival comes first.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Shane memorably teaches young Joey Starrett (Brandon deWilde) how to use a gun and wrestles a massive tree trunk with the Starrett patriarch in another iconic scene. He even feels a romantic tug for Mrs. Starrett (Jean Arthur) but knows not to break up their nuclear family.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The final gunfight remains a thing of beauty all these years later, a testament to cool under fire.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The ultimate shark thriller doubles as a treatise on masculinity. The three male characters capture the shades of the modern man. Roy Scheider’s Sheriff Brody is a calm, cool and committed leader. He also knows when he’s out of his depth. He pushes past his fear of the water to stop a shark from snacking on more Amity beach dwellers.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Quint, memorably played by Robert Shaw, is the ultimate Alpha Male.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Richard Dreyfuss’s scholarly Matt Hooper looks like a “Revenge of the Nerds” castoff, but he proves his mettle when it counts. He’s also not afraid to show fear in the face of what seems like insurmountable odds. One of the film’s best lines? Hooper struggles to clean his diving mask seconds before he descends into the steel cage for an up close and personal look at the shark.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I’ve got no spit,” he confesses, capturing both fear and resilience. He’s still going down to confront the shark. That’s what a man does.</span></p>
<h3><b>&#8220;Rocky&#8221; (1976)</b></h3>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rocky Balboa could have lived down to everyone’s expectations. Sylvester Stallone’s character wasn’t bright, nor was he born with anything resembling a silver spoon in his mouth. He was a journeyman fighter granted a chance to make something of himself. That’s assuming he can last a few rounds with the great Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Stay down, Rocky. No one expects you to win.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rocky won’t quit. He screws up his courage, trains harder than he’s ever trained before and manages to woo a shy pet shop clerk named Adrian (Talia Shire) along the way.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Ain’t gonna be no rematch,” Creed grunts late in the fight, knowing Rocky will never quit.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There’s a reason Stallone remains a star at 78. Fans love his aspirational characters, none more than the Italian Stallion. Rocky represents a puncher’s chance, the notion that anyone in America can corral their destiny with hard work, hustle and an indomitable spirit.</span></p>
<h3><b>&#8220;Predator&#8221; (1987)</b></h3>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Co-stars Jesse Ventura, Bill Duke, Carl Weathers and Sonny Landham tear down half the jungle trying to swat their invisible foe. Only Schwarzenegger’s character lives long enough for the battle royale.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Muscle. Sweat. Blood. It’s the perfect ‘80s action movie in a decade loaded with over-the-top male heroes.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sure, it’s a Christmas movie, but beneath the yuletide tinsel lies a tribute to a father and husband. Det. John McClane (Bruce Willis) gets the worst Christmas present possible – a gang of Eurotrash thieves overtakes Nakatomi Plaza on December 24.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">McClane’s ex (Bonnie Bedelia) is among the hostages, and he’ll stop at nothing to save her. He’ll walk barefoot over broken glass and stare down one of Hollywood’s most memorable villains, Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He’s got the heart of a champion, showcased in four increasingly diminished sequels. He also knows when it’s best to use a wisecrack to keep the enemy off balance.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Willis lacked the cartoonish physique of Stallone and Schwarzenegger, the ‘80s defining action stars. He made do with a wife-beater T-shirt and a never-say-die spirit.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Patrick Swayze’s James Dalton can crack skulls with the best of him. The bouncer would rather de-escalate a bar fight than pour gasoline on its flames. Masculinity can evoke restraint, too.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Dalton could take on a roomful of drunks, but being a man means knowing when violence is the very last resort.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Being a man also means treating a lady right. Dalton proves he’s aces on that front, too, while courting his lovely physician (Kelly Lynch).</span></p>

<p>CNN anchor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jake-tapper" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jake Tapper</a> compared President Joe Biden to a movie character who is oblivious to the fact that he is dead.</p>
<p>Tapper made the comparison on Thursday as voices from within the Democratic Party grow louder and louder, calling for Biden to exit the 2024 campaign — and reports have begun to circulate that he could agree to step aside in the coming days.</p>
<p>Biden&#8217;s team, in contrast, has insisted that he plans to stay in the race and is the only one who could potentially beat former President Trump in a second head-to-head match-up. That, said Tapper, was what made Biden similar to &#8220;The Sixth Sense&#8221; main character Malcolm Crowe. Crowe, played in the 1999 M. Night Shyamalan thriller by actor Bruce Willis, is a psychologist who does not realize until the end of the film that he is actually dead.</p>

White insisted the film is a Christmas movie because the events take place on Christmas Eve. “I&#8217;m gonna break it down to you. For the record, it&#8217;s a Christmas cult classic. <p>De Souza said that casting <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-was-an-absolute-puddle-bruce-willis-wife-reveals-what-their-9-year-old-taught-her-about-his-disease" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Willis</a> was a long, drawn-out affair — and it almost didn&#8217;t happen. Initially, no one even wanted the script. &#8220;James Caan told me directly, &#8216;I read the script, and this guy’s running away for the first twenty-five pages,'&#8221; de Souza explained that the action stars of the day couldn&#8217;t wrap their minds around an action movie hero who didn&#8217;t charge in, guns blazing, from the start.</p>
<p>&#8220;In the context of these ’roid-rage, superhuman heroes we had at the time, this character seemed like a p***y,&#8221; de Souza said of John McClane.</p>
<p>Clint Eastwood reportedly nixed the role because he didn&#8217;t get the sarcastic humor, and Richard Gere&#8217;s recent conversion to Buddhism had led him to seek more &#8220;spiritual&#8221; projects. Other reports have named a number of actors who declined the role, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Charles Bronson, Harrison Ford, and Al Pacino.</p>
<p>Willis turned it down at first, citing a conflict with his hit show &#8220;Moonlighting&#8221; — but when Cybill Shepherd announced her pregnancy, his schedule changed. Still, he wasn&#8217;t a shoo-in. His agent demanded a $5 million payday — and said that Willis as prepared to walk if they didn&#8217;t come through. Desperate producers, afraid that the whole project would be shelved otherwise, forked over the cash.</p>
<p>But according to de Semlyen, getting Willis onboard was only half the battle — then he had to survive shooting one of his first scenes.</p>
<p>The scene, in which an explosion sends the actor flying, was dangerous enough that it was scheduled early in the filming in order to leave time to recast Willis&#8217; role if something went wrong.</p>

<p>&#8220;As he did, large plastic bags of gasoline were detonated, unleashing a fireball that blew Willis, he claimed, right to the edge of the bag,&#8221; de Semlyen continued. &#8220;When I landed, everyone came running over to me and I thought they were going to say, &#8216;Great job! Attaboy!&#8217; And what they were doing is seeing if I’m alive because I almost missed the bag.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;It started out with a kind of vague unresponsiveness, which the family chalked up to Hollywood hearing loss: &#8216;Speak up!&#8217; &#8216;Die Hard&#8217; messed with Dad’s ears,'&#8221; she wrote, adding that the unresponsiveness she had noticed only increased over time — and she sometimes took that as a personal slight due to their changing and growing family.</p>

All kinds of cognitive testing was being conducted, but we didn’t have an acronym yet,&#8221; she said, adding, &#8220;I remember a moment when it hit me painfully: I was at a wedding in the summer of 2021 on Martha’s Vineyard, and the bride’s father made a moving speech. Suddenly I realized that I would never get that moment, my dad speaking about me in adulthood at my wedding. It was devastating. I left the dinner table, stepped outside, and wept in the bushes.&#8221;</p>
<p>It was another year before she could fully address her own illness – and then she began to wonder whether it would have been allowed to progress so far if her father had not been &#8220;quietly struggling&#8221; with his own developing illness.</p>
<p>&#8220;What if my dad had been his full self and saw me at that size? What would he have done? I’d like to think that he wouldn’t have let it happen,&#8221; she mused. &#8220;Maybe he’s a stereotypical father of a certain generation in that way, a doer who, if he had understood, might have scooped me up and said, &#8216;This is ending now.&#8217; His style has always been to plug the leak even if he’s not sure why the leak is happening. Certainly there are benefits to examination, but there’s a beauty in his way, and I don’t think I noticed it until he was no longer capable of it.&#8221;</p>
