The NYPD has issued an all clear following an evacuation of the World Trade Center station when a pressure cooker was discovered on the PATH train, NBC New York reports.

The New York Police Department had evacuated the World Trade Center station on Tuesday after a suspicious package was found on one of the trains.

“Due to a police investigation please avoid The Oculus at this time,” the department said at 3:16 p.m. EST.

NBC New York reported that the “Bomb Squad is investigating after a pressure cooker was found on the last car of a PATH train from Newark Tuesday.”

The train was reportedly inside the station for more than an hour before it was discovered, the report said. The Port Authority confirmed to the network that the station had been evacuated.

The World Trade Center was first attacked in 1993 when an Islamic terrorist connected to Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda drove a van loaded with a 1,200-pound urea nitrate bomb into the building’s underground parking structure and detonated it.

The explosion “carved out a nearly 100-foot crater several stories deep and several more high,” the FBI said. “Six people were killed almost instantly.”

Eight years later, 10 Islamic terrorists with Al-Qaeda hijacked two commercial passenger airliners and flew them into the two World Trade Center buildings, killing nearly 3,000 Americans and sparking the Global War on Terrorism. Five more terrorists also hijacked a third airliner that was flown into the Pentagon.

A fourth airliner was hijacked by another four terrorists, but passengers on the plane learned about the other hijackings through phone calls they made while on board the plane and subsequently fought to retake control of the aircraft. The plane crashed into the ground in Pennsylvania.

At the start of this year, a teenager was charged with attempted murder and attempted assault when he allegedly attacked three police officers with a machete during New Year’s Eve celebrations near Times Square. The New York Times reported that the suspect carried out the attack “in an act of Islamic extremism.”
