BREAKING: Trump Invites Putin To White House; Says He Can Be Putin’s ‘Worst Enemy’

The Trump administration has formally invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the White House this fall following the Helsinki summit where the president received criticism for comments he made during a press conference with the Russian president.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted the news, writing, “In Helsinki, @POTUS agreed to ongoing working level dialogue between the two security council staffs. President Trump asked @Ambjohnbolton to invite President Putin to Washington in the fall and those discussions are already underway.”

“The Summit with Russia was a great success, except with the real enemy of the people, the Fake News Media,” Trump tweeted early Thursday morning. “I look forward to our second meeting so that we can start implementing some of the many things discussed, including stopping terrorism, security for Israel, nuclear proliferation, cyber attacks, trade, Ukraine, Middle East peace, North Korea and more. There are many answers, some easy and some hard, to these problems…but they can ALL be solved!”

In an interview with CNBC, Trump said: “Getting along with President Putin, getting along with Russia, is positive, not a negative.”

Trump highlighted different ways he has been hard on Russia by pointing out how he came down hard on Germany for giving Russia billions of dollars for energy, saying. “I said, wait a minute, we’re supposed to be protecting you from Russia and you’re paying them billions of dollars. What’s that all about?”

“Now, you think that’s a positive for Russia?” Trump told CNBC. “I’m talking them [Germany] out of things that they [Russia] were given billions of dollars. It’s ridiculous, by the way, that that’s happening.”

Trump also pointed to the different sanctions he has put on Russia and the 60 Russian diplomats he kicked out of the U.S. before taking a shot at Obama.

“Obama was a patsy for Russia,” Trump said. “A total patsy.”

Trump added that if things do not work out with Russia that he will be Putin’s “worst enemy.”
