Bette Midler went on an unhinged rant on Wednesday against Fox News host Tucker Carlson, the owner of News Corp Rupert Murdoch, and former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, calling for them to be “arrested” and more.
The 76-year-old actress made the comments following the mass shooting at a grocery store in Buffalo that left ten people dead. She tweeted to her followers that Carlson should be “arrested” and Gingrich “clapped in irons” for getting Murdoch “past the FCC,” without truly explaining the last part.
“#tuckercarlson should be arrested and tried for sedition and fomenting insurrection,” the “Hocus Pocus” star wrote to her two million followers. “#[Rupert] Murdoch should have his citizenship revoked; the damage he continues to do to our democracy will soon become irreparable.”
“#NewtGingrich should be clapped in irons for getting him past the #FCC,” she added.

The “Beaches” star a short time later tweeted that if the “unalienable rights” described in the Declaration of Independence cannot be delivered to the citizens, then the government is “worthless.”
“We have ‘unalienable rights?’” Midler wrote. “‘Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness?’ How are citizens supposed to believe in these sacred principles if they are getting slaughtered every time they go to the store?”
“If a government can’t deliver on this foundational promise, it’s worthless,” she added.

The Hollywood star recently faced a backlash after she sent out a snarky tweet telling women to “try breastfeeding” following the massive shortage of infant formula across the country.
“TRY BREASTFEEEDING!” the actress tweeted to millions. “It’s free and available on demand.”
Both supporters of her and critics hit back with how ignorant the tweet made her sound, as reported previously by The Daily Wire. Conservatives and liberals agreed that Midler’s comments were wrong. Some of her followers even suggested that she must’ve been hacked.
But the “Big Business” star appeared to double-down in a follow-up tweet that read, “People are piling on because of former tweet. No, shame if you can’t breastfeed, but if you can & are somehow convinced that your own milk isn’t as good as a ‘scientifically researched product,’ that’s something else again. The monopoly news is news to me, tho, no lie. #WETNURSES.”
