<p>Burlington <a href="https://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/story/news/local/2020/07/01/burlington-city-council-passes-budget-police-force-cuts/3285211001/">cut</a> its police department by 30% in July last year, just days after ice cream giant Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s, which was founded in Burlington, issued a call to &#8220;defund the police.&#8221;</p>
