Kim Kardashian’s robber appeared to blame the reality star for the $10 million jewelry heist he and 11 other men put her through in October 2016 and said celebrities and influencers like her should be “less showy.”
One of the elderly men involved in the multi-million dollar robbery of the 41-year-old reality star, Yunis Abbas, said that because “The Kardashians” star was “throwing money away,” he felt no guilt for his part in the robbery in which Kim was left bound and gagged in the bathtub of her Paris apartment, VICE reported in a piece posted on YouTube Sunday.
Abbas spent close to two years behind bars for robbing Kardashian of millions of dollars worth of jewelry, including her 20-carat engagement ring given to her by her then-husband Kanye West, The Daily Mail noted.
Yunis was released after 22 months in prison for health reasons, the New York Post noted. The thief admitted that he and his group tracked the star via her social media posts.
“I went on the internet, and it’s true, I saw her jewelry, I saw her ring, I saw that she showed it everywhere, and we knew this information through social media,” Abbas told VICE.
“Since she was throwing money away, I was there to collect it, and that was that,” he added. “Guilty? No, I don’t care. I don’t care.”

He said Kardashian’s well-documented trauma from the robbery is to be expected and said the star shouldn’t have been on social media showing off her wealth.
“They [celebrities and influencers] should be a little less showy towards people who can’t afford it,” the robber shared. “For some people, it’s provocative.”
Abbas also told VICE that he recalled seeing an episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” where Kim “threw her diamond in the pool” and remembered thinking, “She’s got a lot of money. This lady doesn’t care at all.”
During an appearance on a “Kardashians” special in 2021, Kim opened up about how she was still reeling from the heist and said she’s a “completely different person” after what she went through in Paris, The Daily Mail noted.
“I can’t sleep if I have jewelry in my safe, or money, or anything at my house,” the reality star admitted. “I just don’t live my life like that.”
She added that “no expensive items ever come” to her home and “as far as jewelry, if [she is] wearing something, it’s borrowed. It’s fake.”
“The things I valued before that happened were genuinely completely different than what I value now,” Kim shared. “It’s fun to get dressed up and all this, but like, [material] things don’t make me.”
Kim was married to West for nearly seven years before the two called it quits. They divorced in 2021 and share four children together.
